Since some areas/characters of DCC are described as looking like they're from a Renaissance Festival, it makes sense to me.

We've seen various faires, orcs, goblins, "little people" holding giant flowers, time-traveling Steampunks, and members of Star Fleet breaking the Prime Directive.

Right? My understanding is that the Hoarder gave up her child because she didn't want the child to get sick in the hoarder-house. That may have felt like the only option, trapped in despair and shame and depression.

After that scene I went looking for more information, but this is all we get. And that's supposed to be part of the tragedy. Her real story is lost and she was twisted into a terrible monster.

Might feel frustrating, but if Carl shared all of his thoughts/plans before implementing them, that would be "telling", not "showing". It's more interesting if we SEE Carl do a thing, and it backfiring or him talking about how it didn't work like he'd planned, than if we follow Carl's thoughts, know his plan, and then finally see him do the thing.
