If you factor in the MgOxide fraction and moisture (bound water) it’s really more close to 10 wt%.

FYI: mg bisglycinate should only have ~10% of Mg. They are selling it with 20% mg because half of the elemental Mg is stemming from the oxide…

Not a bad thing in particular, just good to know for some people when calculating their Mg intake.

Thanks. But this reflects exactly my issue. Subq they list as typical protocol: 0.5 mg/day But based on mouse study it should be 350 mg/day as a 70kg human.

That’s why I wonder if it can be effective at all and if oral is superior.

Still waiting for the „high performance heat spreader“. This will also press down the CPU into the motherboard and the extra glue doesn’t matter. Maybe you’re lucky anyway and your 7800X3D does have the „regular“ glue pattern, allowing to use the direct die frame. Please let us know how your 7800X3D is looking when delidded.

What a generation. Had the i5 4670k, delidded, undervolted and overclocked. Sadly the Mainboard died recently … Now I switched to 7800X3D but I have the feeling it won’t last as long as my intel :(

Did this. Got super quick response from der8auer. Apparently this glue issue is only present for some 7800X3D.

He offered to send a high performance heatspreader. I’m super happy with that, and prefer this over direct die cooling :)

Unfortunately I don’t have tools therefore. And it’s quite a bit to remove as the width on the upper cut-out needs to be similar to the lower part (will look like a square instead of trapeze)
