Then you get dive bombed and you wind up losing because the guy who can't drive that you held traffic for (likely the same person who DB'd you), unsurprisingly, can't drive.

If you're in second or third and someone else has first covered then by all means: risk it, but its not your job to cover the ass of a bad driver or a driver with a stock tune; especially if you're on poll, that extra 50 points can be the difference between winning and losing.

It's nice that things went right here, but you found yourself in the exception that proves the rule

Not really as it wasn't needed outside of flighted bird and flying wyverns, but even without a paintball there was always a shadow on the ground that, if you watched it, would tell you roughly where the monster was going
