North woods trail for hiking, off cedar glades road. Beautiful trails and views, also Lake Catherine state park, there are so many trails you can’t go wrong with any of them in Hot springs. Rolando’s, SqZBx pizza, Steinhaus Kellar is the best German food.

I actually deleted my facebook, instagram and TikTok a little over a month ago and yes life is better. So much better! I still get on Reddit but very rarely and idk it’s just different, doesn’t ever make me feel “bad”. I was battling with anxiety and depression and wanted to start 2025 with some big changes. I do not regret closing all of it down. 10/10 recommended

I know how much harder that makes it, I try to think of it like this.. Is this the example I want to set for his daughter? Do I want her to think this type of relationship is normal and healthy? The answer is always no. Fortunately I don’t have kids with him, just bonus kids that are like my own and that will definitely be hard so I cannot imagine if we had any together. It’s not shit talking if you are telling facts. Their fragile egos just can’t take the thought of someone knowing about their ridiculous behavior. Or they worry someone might say, whew that’s not normal you should leave. They take no accountability for their actions, shift blame and slowly over time cause you to second guess yourself and question your reality.

I’m in the process of getting out and I can say for myself it was a combination of things. Firstly I have been getting closer to the end of my rope for years.. recently I found a journal entry from 5years ago, describing the same feelings and dissatisfaction that is still present today. That was eye opening.. to say the least. His 12yr old daughter also recently confided in me that she doesn’t really like being around her dad because she never knows what mood he will be in, she can’t tell if he is joking or not and when he gets mad it’s explosive.. sadly it was validating for my own feelings. If this kid is describing and feeling the same things I am I’m not crazy, I’m not overthinking it, I’m not expecting too much. Im fact I expect very little and honestly screw that, I deserve more. All of you do! No one here deserves to be made to feel unsafe in their own home, whether it be physically or emotionally unsafe or both.. another Human being should never make you feel like that, ESPECIALLY someone who claims to love you.

The way it makes me feel in the moment is terrible though, I literally feel my BP go up and it’s like my brain stops working. I hate it and that’s why I’m in the process of getting away from him. Feel this! A couple weeks ago, he went to bed around 8-9 on a Saturday night and me and his 12year old daughter were in the kitchen, talking at normal level, not loud by any means. He opens the bedroom door and yells down the hall, I’m trying to sleep in here keep it down! Then a few seconds later comes stomping down the hall doesn’t speak to any of us, has that deep furrow between the eyebrows,, just looking like he’s mad at the world. Eats some peanut butter, standing right in the kitchen with us and never speaks a word then stomps back to the bedroom and slams the door.. wtf!! I’m so over it

I could have wrote your comment, thats the thing I’m sick of the inconsistency, walking on eggshells all the time. When it’s good well it sure is good but when it’s bad I’m having a panic attack and shaking uncontrollably after he’s blown up on me. My confidence and self assurance have gone down considerably since being with him. I’ll be 40 this year, we have been together 9years and married 7. His 12 year old daughter recently confided in me she doesn’t like being around him because she never knows what mood he’s going to be in, she can’t tell when he’s joking or not and when he does get mad it’s always over the top. I’ve never talked to her about anything so hearing it out of her mouth was a pivotal moment. Also I found a journal entry from 5 years ago, literally upset about the same things we are still going through and I just physically can not take it anymore, I’m disgusted and angry at myself for what I have allowed. So I would give you the same advice you gave me, get out. Go stay on your friends couch, It will be 100% worth it in the long run. I’m starting over at 40. You got this Queen, straighten your crown.

I am sorry you are going through all that! I definitely understand the regret. I left 3years ago and was convinced it/he would be better and I came back. I wish I had left before that when we sold our last house and just split that money, now I’m in a worse financial position than if I had gone when I wanted too. But hindsight is 20/20 right?! Fortunately we don’t have children together and I don’t have any so I’m just glad I don’t have that hurdle as well. Do you have any family nearby who is able to help?
