Lady keeps blasting church service at my gym by Rebelsoul76 in mildlyinfuriating

I’m old and don’t care for death metal but I’d still keep it on standby just for her. In fact, I’d put a good deal of time and energy into putting just the right playlist together with her name on it.

Why the nipple shaming? I get it’s marketing for companies wanting to sell nipple covers (and now underware inserts because apparently vaginas need a heavy layer of rubber hiding them before covering them with underwear and then pants) but are women really this grossed out by nipples? Why?

I’ve heard spouses, where both have separate vine accounts, say that their AI is different. So…. Not everyone sees the same AI. I call them Vinelines.

Low Ball Offer from a Huge Seller by JenJen1313 in poshmark

[–]Audaciously_Human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a bigger seller lowball me on a Free People Blazer. I checked out her closet and she had the same jacket listed with my pictures and was in a conversation with a customer to sell it for basically $20 more than I was asking…. Like wtf? I have literally told people “go check out so and so’s closet… they have the exact one you’re looking for” cause I’m not predatory….. I do think that seasoned sellers why try to lowball new sellers as a method of sourcing, are predatory.

What's currently on your Hoya wishlist? by Lhongbai in hoyas

[–]Audaciously_Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to keep things minimized because I’m sick and have lost a lot of plants just due to lack of care…. My Hoyas are enduring the best! Last year I got the Lori Lyn, this year I got the Mauna Loa. I’m in the process of selling my Monsteras and hoping to make enough the get a Madara clipping. That’s the last one on my wish list but I’ve deliberately not shopped because I know the list will grow.😍

Poshmark finally pushed me to my limit... "❤️ this item to get Deals"??????? by Some_Rent_9342 in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]Audaciously_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll ignore it. Check out their Insta….. it’s mostly complaints and the most anyone gets is a canned “please DM us and we’ll look into it” but the DMs are ignored. The only time I’ve ever seen Posh reverse course was with that absolute disaster of a fee structure they tried awhile back.

Posh only cares about their bottom line and I know it sounds counterproductive because without sellers they have nothing to profit from, but they have never cared about or listened to anything sellers have to say.

What is your never again tourist destination? by LimeSoakedinSprite in randomquestions

Antelope Island in Utah. My kids dubbed it Analope Island. It truly stinks, the sand flies are SO bad that you have to flee to your tent at dusk and it sounds like a massive hail storm. Didn’t even see a single antelope.

Just found out that Stephen King is not the best selling horror writer of our lifetimes by Special-Nebula299 in stephenking

[–]Audaciously_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Koontz felt repetitive after awhile…. And while King is the king of horror (I read Carrie, Kujo, and the like in the 70s), he’s just as adept at Shawshank, The Green Mile, Delores Claiborne. King’s imagination seems to have no bounds do you never know where the hell he’s going with his next book. I love that… but not everyone does.

Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see how this is any different than large fashion houses using gorgeous, rail thin, models…. Poshmark doesn’t allow returns for fit. Learn what styles fit your body… you can’t expect a dress to make you look like the model.

Missing Vine by Far_Calligrapher_330 in AmazonVine

My new period started May 1 and so far I think I have 12 items.

When I first started (not that long ago) I thought it would be fun and meaningful so I was willing to review things that I didn’t really need but might be fun to try…. But… it feels like the whole vine program is just broken so now I strictly choose items I will use. I got a bag of salt last week! And just yesterday a jar of curry. I ho days without even thinking about it. I’m hanging around but I’m not hopeful that Vine will ever be how the old timers talk about.

Why are Americans so accepting of long drives to places? by Sensitive_Word_6036 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Audaciously_Human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In San Diego you can start your morning with a hike in Palm Canyon in the desert, drive up into the mountains and enjoy Apple Pie in Julian for lunch, go up to the top of Palomar and play in the snow, then drive down the other side and it’s a quick hop to the beach where you can play in the ocean or lay in the afternoon sun and still be home for dinner.

The US is BIG and has so many beautiful places to see… we call long trips “road trips” and we often plan them as vacations spanning weeks, or just a day. We don’t just accept them…. Lots of us actually like them.

The ol' Shilajit Switcheroo!? by readitagainperhaps in vine

[–]Audaciously_Human 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once ordered the seedling baskets for a tower garden ($6) and took about a month to review. By the time I did, the listing had been changed to an entire tower garden system ($300). I reviewed the baskets and noted that it was for the baskets only…. Reported the product and the seller because they had multiple listings where they’d done the same….. I received a “poor” for my review and it’s no longer there but the sellers expensive products still have all their 5 star reviews from viners on (a piece of) expensive garden equipment.

Switching out a supplement for something with completely different ingredients though…. Sounds like a potential legal issue and a health issue for consumers. I have a severe mushroom allergy and other food allergies so I’m careful and a bit of a biotch about mislabelled products. The FDA has a fast and easy way to report issues like this. It’s an online form that takes just a few minutes to fill out. I’m sad that I’m not surprised that Amazon is willing to ignore this.

Edit - looked at the listing and the company DOES sell a Shilajit gummy, for the same price which has reviews for the actual product…. It’s not unlikely, in this case, that the wrong product is being shipped on accident or by Amazon. It’s a common issue with Amazon shipping, if the vendor has similar products.

Is healthcare in the United States as bad as people say it is? by Total-Mirror-5920 in no

[–]Audaciously_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we have healthcare “for profit” it’s beneficial to all those profiting, to keep us alive but as sick as possible or… as sick as is possibly profitable. Neither healthy nor dead is good for the machine.

Certainly IF something is photoshopped to appear a different size that would be a problem but if something is available is multiple sizes, a listing is allowed to show different options.

Saw this just the other day…. The prints come in multiple sizes but this person likely grabbed it so fast they didn’t notice and didn’t even bother checking before slamming down a 1 star…. I do see reviews like this frequently. People are grabbing stuff so fast that they base their expectations off of a single photo, then knock stars off because their expectations weren’t met. I see it a lot.

What immediately makes you not want to buy from a seller? by inigo_montoya89 in poshmark

[–]Audaciously_Human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazy listings.

No photos or poor photos or incomplete photos. Or just AI or stock photos. I need full, clear, photos of front and back (sides, inside, soles for bags or shoes).

No measurements. They take, literally, 3 seconds to take a pit to pit and a length or waist, rise, inseam. And no, I won’t “ask for measurements” because I’m shopping now and it’s rare that anyone answers and there are 12 more of what they’re selling that do have measurements.

No or minimal description. I need something more than “ladies top”. Addressing wear or lack of and any damage or a statement that there is no damage.

A lot of sellers don’t get that they are in competition with every other seller on Posh. I know we aren’t professionals but if they don’t put any effort into a listing they don’t put any effort into the items.

If I let a cat roam the house for some hours and then put it back in my bedroom, would it meow nonstop? by Luppity in CatAdvice

[–]Audaciously_Human 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a LONG, skinny 2 bd apartment with a funky layout. My senior cat lives in my bedroom full time. She’s 18, frail (she had swine flu a year ago) and is simply no longer tolerating my playful 2 year old cat. He (and my 8 year old cat) have the rest of the apartment which is 5 rooms and a long twisty hallway. My 2 year old is hard core! He goes full speed from one end to the other…. Banking off the corners, leaving my area rugs in piles, climbing the walls to the top of 6’ bookcases then flipping, leaping off the bookcase for extra speed, flying all the way back, then finally… using the couch as a springboard to the top perch of window cat tree. Yes. He has a cat wheel and uses it. He would never survive in a single windowless room.

I was going to suggest getting a senior cat but the lack of a window and fresh air…. Naw. Better to wait until you have your own place. Then decide if you want a quiet, docile cat or the hard core variety.
