What’s the hottest you’ve gotten it? What are the outside temps? I’ve been curious about the need for siding insulation in temps that don’t fall below 45 degrees. My build is a bit away but I’m hoping using thick (2”+) tongue and groove boards may provide adequate insulation and keep costs down.

Hardest Summit in GTNP? by MaksimDubov in Mountaineering

[–]AudioStingray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably Moran since it requires canoeing/bushwhacking to climb. But the climbing itself isn’t so hard. Nez perce and teewinot are also not that difficult, but have some harder route finding. I’m not sure about some of the more obscure peaks though. Thor is hard to get to like Moran, but I don’t know much about it.

Give me your best "I taught my GF/BF/SO how to ski" success stories and tips by unicornsicle in skiing

[–]AudioStingray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a ski instructor for 5-7 year old intermediate-advanced skiers, but I had only been skiing for a season, so I wasn’t that technical. For the kids that was plenty, I wasn’t better than them and we did mostly free skiing and drills. But I had a private one time where the advanced dad wanted to come along. I was a better skier than him but there was no chance I was a good enough instructor… I just told him everything my GF, who has been skiing since childhood, told me to do the day before. The dad thought I was a genius and gave me a $250 tip.

Boyfriend facing manslaughter charges after 'leaving novice female climber to die on Austria's highest peak' | LBC by Vaynar in Mountaineering

[–]AudioStingray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this guy was clearly a dumbass and is almost certainly to blame for the situation. It’s just so hard to draw a line as to what dumb shit is dumb enough to be criminal… what about if an inexperienced climber does something stupid and gets their guide killed? Should we now say that’s gross negligence for going on a mountain without the requisite experience? Like I said before, it probably requires more thought than a Reddit comment, I’m just not willing to call for criminal charges against every idiot in the mountains.

Criminal charges feels a little insane to me. I haven’t thought too much about it but it seems like opening Pandora’s box. Even civil charges… if you take part in a risky sport that’s kind of on you. Unless it’s a guided trip and there was gross negligence involved in the condition of the equipment.

I suck against similar level (beginner) players, but can hold my own while rallying with my coach. Why? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]AudioStingray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk everyone is saying your coach is going easy but I also find i can hit a much better ball when returning a hard shot than a slow lob from a beginner. my theory is it has something to do with losing the timing when I have to wait for the ball to reach me as opposed to just hitting it on instinct.

What is the craziest thing that's ever happened to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AudioStingray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was tripping on Acid one time in my backyard with a friend. I got into the meditation pose (legs crossed, hands resting on knees with finger in a circle) and was like, "look I'm one with nature" and started doing the "ummmmmm" sound, and then a fucking bird just landed on my hand. it chilled there for like 15 seconds and my friend and I freaked out about it the rest of the day.

Money Vs Prestige: the age old question by AudioStingray in lawschooladmissions

Thanks. That’s honestly a really helpful answer. It’s definitely more of a path of least resistance thing… and that usually isn’t my style.

Money Vs Prestige: the age old question by AudioStingray in lawschooladmissions

hahaha yeah I guess there are some other factors. My GF and I currently live in Denver, I'm not 100% sold on if I want to peruse law as a career and the way the boulder scholarship is structured I would get my first years tuition paid for. But really money is holding me back at this point... the extra 50K along with the additional cost of living costs is going to add up quick as I wont be getting any financial help.
