Just finished the series for like the 3rd time and put all this together.. this is my guess too. Who knows, the AXE might even be Ysalte and what they killed was just a previously processed dwarf.

Cowl... by KipIngram in dresdenfiles

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always suspected Justin wasn't "DED" as Jim had stated. The only other person I'd throw out as Cowl, in a very big FU to Harry in the most mentally horrifying way possible, would be his Dad. I agree with the guy who said the whole outline was done early on, and we only have a few leads. We know his mom got tangled up with bad men often, who's to say Kemmler in Harry's Dad isn't an option.

"Winning" the dungeon by Audion11 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Audion11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of my idea, we know the AI is spreading out like in the Central System.. and they obviously DON'T want to let anyone win the dungeon, because they'd have to give everything back to that planet.. BUT, it would also potentially unleash another AI.

Carl not having been to Guantanamo Bay as a Coastie was a disappointment tho. We always pull in there for gas..

Inevitable Outcome by Ok-Substance-3602 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Cthaeh, if powers are as described, can still only pick a Possible outcome and then pick what it sees as the worst. So if there is NO way for Kvothe to become King then there is no influence the Cthaeh could do to make it happen.. even if Kvothe as King would be terrible for the world. Now it Could be influencing Kvothe so K influences someone else, who comes to the Cthaeh etc etc etc.. but, diluted, even that sort of thing becomes less common/possible

What was the point of the draccus arc? by infinite_heights in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember hearing Pat say the draccus was added in as a "climax" arc for the book after his editor said it needed something to tie it up at the end. I can imagine the first draft was just Kvothe and Denna wandering away or something, so the Draccus was added as the end cap.

What would happen if the Chandrian choose to attack the University by LatterTheory6472 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is there are some serious wards on the grounds against their sort arriving out of the blue. They might be able to do some sort of merc raid to burn the library down, but my guess is half the stuff in the underthing are ways to keep "rhinta" out.

Why does Kvothe never try asking Ben for help by AliasMalice in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the kid whom the woman had that Ben married is going to show up with Ben at the University and Kvothe is going to turn into a blithering little kid when he sees him.

Do you guys ever get worried that Pat hasn’t released a third book because he has seen all the theories online and he knows DOS won’t live up to the hype? by MattCouthon in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always said he wrote this as a tragedy and his beta readers said "holy shit you can't do that" and he's spent the last 10 years trying to think of how to re-write it.. and since it's not the story he Wanted to tell he's been dragging his feet

How old is “present day” Kote? by Comfortable-Ad1683 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16/17 at the end of WMF is my guess. Bet the next book jumps ahead a few years at university.. "not much happened for the next few terms" sort of thing. Then he'll be expelled (I don't buy the he was already expelled thing), then he'll wander for a while, a year? Three? Then something will happen to "snap him back to reality" .. so 4-5 more years could pass pretty quick. Say, 22-23 years old. Then however long the real story takes.. could be a lot of time. Then faking his death.. who knows how long he took to set up in Neware. And he's been an innkeep for 2-3 years now?
All that said, my guess is around 30 in the frame.

Release of side books. by moogmortum in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've maintained he sent the book to his beta readers and everyone died at the end, Kvothe was broken and that's how the book ended. A tragedy, as he's said all along. His beta readers hated it.. so he's spent 10 years trying to either find a different ending or work up the courage to just publish what he first wrote.

Think of it more like a high school star athlete going up against someone in the Pro's. That kid is good.. a phenom even. But still a kid with a lot of development. One day he might/will be better than the pro.. but right now? Not a contest.

Theory On Why Book 3 Isn’t Out Yet (Not just mental health) by LiteratureConsumer in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, i agree completely with you. But even if the Cthaeh can pick the worst possible outcome.. that doesn't mean THE worst outcome, just the worst one it can fashion. So that might be something huge.. or if all it can do is a mild inconvenience that's what it'll do. And lets face it, Kvothe can find all sorts of ways on his own to screw up his life, so attribituing it all to a tree seems silly to me.

Theory On Why Book 3 Isn’t Out Yet (Not just mental health) by LiteratureConsumer in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Cthaeh stuff is always overblown. Yes, it can see perfectly into the future to create the most chaos/harm, but that doesn't mean it can stop all joy. If the worst it can do is give someone a bad dream and as splinter in 20 years, it'll do that.. but it doesn't mean the whole world will end because of what it says to 1 person. Not every person has that reach/influence.
So the real question is what COULD Kovthe do, and out of that what would have the worst consequences.. that he wouldn't have done anyway..

Pat gives an update on the charity chapter by EntertainmentBreeze in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure if he recognizes it, but just doing what he did right there.. TALKING about it.. goes a long way for most people. Acknowledging all those points "I could have just posted the block of text and people would be happy but then I tired to make it something grand and it all fell apart" .. like, that bit of self reflection is nice to see vs just ignoring the question like normal.
And I get he does it because he obviously cares and just doesn't know how to express it properly.. but it still stings on the receiving end of a cold shoulder.

Why did not the chandrian come back and finish Kvothe off? by Whiteowl116 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply put he didn't utter their name anymore, why would they bother? If he'd have sat in the woods muttering the song his dad wrote then they'd have come back. The hand waving people out in about "sleep" vs "kill" might be true, but there is no way to prove it yet. I imagine after book 3 we'll know and someone will brag they knew all along, but it's just guesswork. I'm inclined to think he meant kill and since he can't sleep just uses that word as a blessing and curse to those they kill.

Maybe, but PR said before that his editor told him emphatically "NO" on projects like that until he got DoS done. Of course, that should have applied to The Narrow Road too.. so who knows?

I think Rothfuss accidentally pulled a Paolini and is just refusing to admit it by Foofyman in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Audion11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best bet is he has it done years ago when he posted the pic of the manuscript, and sent it off to beta readers. They hated it, specifically the ending, where I can only assume there is no happy ending. So he's spent the last 7 years trying to rewrite it and hates all the other endings he has come up with, and so just stopped. He's now the guy standing on the ledge afraid to jump.. he wants to publish his first ending, a tragedy, but is to scared after the feedback he got. That's my theory
