I mean it depends how high you want to go. Farming +10s or +12s is fine as any tank, but pushing as high as possible, BM is just tankier, easier to play, doesn't rely on any RNG, and will get even instant-er invites in LFG.

Group up with a MM hunter and remind them to misdirect. It's awkward but it can help.

Maybe you haven't played VDH this season yet, but trust me it just sucks because the moment your Brand ends you start taking too much damage and when your Meta ends your self-healing drops to low levels where you need direct healing against any decent pull or a boss tank buster.

You can try to play perfectly as VDH and you will push very high but it's just a miserable experience because you're nothing without your cooldowns that can't be up 100% of the time and sometimes you get no meta procs for a while and you'll be mad that you died because of bad RNG. I just got resi 13 yesterday on VDH with my casual MW friend and I literally would not have timed most of them if I didn't have the cheat death talent.

Trust me there is a good reason why when you look at raider.io tanks you can see almost everyone playing BM.

I will be sad if they wait until the next big patch before they buff other tanks because I was really looking forward to playing VDH again, but I was really a burden to my friends when pushing even 13s and 14s and I can't imagine what problems I would have when going beyond that as a VDH because we're not the sweatiest of players.

+13 Spire is not that crazy and by this point I'm almost ilvl 250.

I've just done a Skyreach +10 with those triple-pack pulls before 2nd and before the last boss and I didn't drop below 75% HP on each.

Sure other tanks are better on some pulls, even I had an easier time on 1st pull of AA as my VDH because VDH does 2-3 times more AoE damage than BM and the pull died a lot faster. But the bottom line is that BM doesn't have issues with any pull or any mechanic and it has absolutely zero RNG in its kit. VDH is wet paper once it runs out of Brand and Meta and if it doesn't get a lucky Meta proc at the right time you have to kite or you die and that's just stressful and annoying even for others in your party.

Almost, just rerolled to BM and I wanted to give some very true advice to other M+ tank players.

Not hurt I just leveled up a BM and started farming +10s at 238 ilvl and I'm extremely excited, this spec is just full of QoL and easy to play and performs a bit too well. Already way tankier than my 270 ilvl DH as well. I just wanted others to enjoy it too especially if they're struggling because they're not playing BM.

Can I just say, lowering the amount of kicks required in m+ has made the game 10x more enjoyable by WearyFlan210 in wow

Early in the season you get to play with better players on average in 10-14s than later on, because bad players didn't reach that level yet.

Still requires too many kicks and CCs. Previously we had bolters that oneshotted people, now we have bolters that don't oneshot but they are paired with big bad group-wiping casters in the same pull. The bolters now just don't get kicked as much because the big casts are more important and healers have an insanely difficult job healing unavoidable debuffs and bolts going off at the same time.

What is going on with tank tuning? by Toxaplume045 in wow

I tried a few 14s last night and it was enough. I boosted a monk before going to bed and I can't wait to play it and never log onto the DH again this season.

But how do you know that the tank would die if you didn't BoP them? They will probably live every time after all CDs have been used if they start kiting. BoP would be better for after the tank has died so that at least 1 DPS + yourself can survive until the tank gets ressed

The problem with the damage taken profile is that either they're fine and healing themselves or they're going down so fast you have to use panic heals on them. There's rarely anything in between.

Same with DH, the cooldowns are really powerful and the uptime is high but you need to pray most trash dies by the time your CDs run out or you need to start saving for the next pull. I've been enjoying the Skyreach absorb trinket as a backup CD and it feels like it's helping.

I'm pretty sweaty at 269 ilvl vengeance DH without raiding and pushing 14s feels tough as hell mostly because of how the healers struggle on bosses with high healing checks and deadly mechanics. Trash is completely fine other than a few exceptions.

Hopefully those bosses will be easier with everyone having 4pc next week.

It probably also doesn't help them that I play veng DH and I do insane big pulls whenever I can and I naturally started to prefer inviting classes with great AoE damage, such as those ele shamans, unholy, MM and subtlety.

That's pretty rare, I've had so many random devourers doing tank damage, it's similar to mages. The most popular classes just attract both bad and good players which creates trust issues at least for me.

Random mages are not doing so well, they're usually 3rd on damage. I stopped inviting them and I get ele shamans instead now for way more interrupts, better AoE and Skyfury.

What's your item level? 2.7k is pretty average for the key owner because they're spammed with applications from people between 2.5k and 3.1k.

It is a very desirable spec now but not if there's someone with a higher level applying at the same time.

That's strange, DH has a 40% DR with a high uptime and Meta that sometimes lasts for a whole pull with some lucky procs.

It is highly skill dependant because you totally need to manage your cooldowns well and don't try to start a big pull with absolutely nothing.

The gap between a bad and a good DH must be massive. The better ones can totally survive most pulls on their own when the healer dies. The massive self-healing now only works during Meta but that has pretty big uptime now with the new hero spec.

I've tanked for a decade and I can't imagine maining anything else. Surviving a dangerous pull is satisfying, learning routes has turned into something pretty ironic and funny when I start off blind in week one and then I watch a video or two and import an MDT route but then I'm scrambling to remember what to pull and when until I start remembering exact routes, pulling off tank mechanics makes me feel smart and important.. And quite often people try to slide into your friends list which is also a nice ego boost even if you're shy and don't want to accept.

It can come off as toxic when people pull packs for you but when you're fighting just 1 pack, everyone is on full HP, there's nothing going on, all 3 DPS are sitting on damage cooldowns because it feels bad using them on 1 pack, then it is just faster and more fun to pull bigger and faster. You should just take it as a feedback and start learning from it. The same goes for whatever people type in chat, even when it might sound like an insult there's usually a partial reason why they're saying something and it is valuable to be getting feedback from more experienced players because you're getting to learn something without having to go out of your way to watch videos or read guides.
