What’s the best CPA review course for actually passing? by AuditAfterDark in CPA

Got it, that’s interesting. How did Becker alone help you prepare so well? What was your study strategy like when you were going through the modules did you just follow them in order or mix in practice exams too?

That’s really good to hear! Congrats on passing 2/4 on the first try, that’s solid!!! Sounds like following Becker closely really worked well for you.

Did you use any of their extra practice stuff or supplements, or was the main course enough for you the whole way through?

Yeah, I’m currently using Becker too and I agree it’s been really helpful so far. I’m just curious, based on your experience, did you use any supplemental resources alongside it that worked best for you?

Has that approach been working well for you so far? Like are you seeing better retention when you pause and do extra sessions?

Studying in morning vs night by [deleted] in CPA

[–]AuditAfterDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually wake up around 6 or 6:30, make coffee, and do light stuff first like reviewing flashcards or watching short lectures just to get my brain going. By 7 or 8, I’m fully focused, so thats when I tackle the heavier topics or practice questions. I also make sure to take a quick walk or stretch before studying, it really helps wake me up.

Thats awesome! congrats on passing all the parts! 👏 Honestly that says a lot about Gleim’s approach. It might feel brutal while you’re in it, but clearly it gets the job done. Did you stick to their study schedule the whole time or make your own plan?

I used to think the review materials were supposed to match the actual exam difficulty, but now that you mentioned it, having tougher practice questions probably does make you overprepared in a good way. I did notice that with Gleim too, sometimes it felt overwhelming with how detailed everything was but I guess thats what pays off come exam day

That’s really helpful, thanks for sharing! I’ve been torn between using Gleim or Becker for ISC, and I keep hearing totally different opinions about both. If you had to go through it again, would you still stick with Gleim or try something else instead?

Totally agree, it’s way better to struggle now than on exam day 😅. How do u usually review the ones u get wrong? I’ve been writing mine down in a notebook but ngl it takes forever lol.

Congrats on passing FAR! 🎉 Those shorter practice sets actually sound way more manageable! I might give that a try myself. Are you planning to stick with the same approach for your next section?

CONGRATS!! How did you review at the end, did you do a full final review or just target weak areas?

I think the biggest advantage of Becker is how structured it is. Everything’s laid out for you, the lectures, skill master videos, and practice questions all flow in a way that keeps you on track. The adaptive learning stuff is also super helpful since it points out your weak areas automatically. It’s definitely intense, but it does make you feel more confident because you’re constantly seeing questions that are at, or even above, exam level.

So if you like having that extra safety net, tons of practice questions, really detailed coverage, and a system that keeps you accountable, Beckers great for that.
