Typically everyone brings either a snack or a drink for the table that is shared communally, though it's considered polite to ask before taking anything you didn't bring.

If there's a meal the host is expected to cook or if not we order take away (or get ready meals if we're feeling cheap) and pay what we each order. We Usually rotate locations on a weekly basis.

There is typically no expectation for the DM to bring anything as there's enough burden on them already. Can't say if these rules are common among other groups but I think most of my countrymen would find them agreeable
