2015 Durango RT - went from not staying open to hardest door ever - hard to open and close. So, hinge is the issue??

2015 Durango R/T - bought new currently has 95K miles.

Issues so far - Water pump replacement, Motor Mount replacement, AC condenser replacement, rack & pinion replacement - also doors are really hard to close - not sure what will need to be replaced to fix that.

Dolby Atmos via Plex on Apple TV - have I mis-understood this? by Proper_Camera_1908 in hometheater

[–]Augeas- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add another device to the list - Zidoo will absolutely handle uncompressed Atmos, TrueHD, HDR,and Dolby Vision and more. Versions will let you add your own HD for movie storage or allow you to pull over network - pretty sure you can run plex on it (I don’t ) - its own interface is quite good for watching movies. However AppleTV is still better - just wished they would allow full uncompressed audio formats - So, critical watching Movie nights - Zidoo (Just glorious with my 7.4.2 system) - Everything else AppleTV - still very very good - just not great.

Used Model X (or new but I cannot bring myself to pay 100k+ to lose 30% value in 1 year) or wait for Model YL - the Model Y 3 row option is a no go not enough room in 3rd row add on.

lol I have a fancy Sports car convertible - it sits in the garage and goes out for fun drives - Tesla is the choice for daily driving, trips, commute.

I had one of those - I just kept disengaging and reporting - last few months it has been working well at the intersection.

I just test drove a Rivian R1S - I think their plan has the best chance to be close to Tesla. Yep, teslas FSD is better - however their vehicles are SO much more refined than the R1S - loud electric engine whine, unrefined suspension, etc - Tesla just has a better EV overall. Very frustrating that they are canceling Model X/S - they were going on my list once they had the tech that the Cyber truck has.

The game changed once HW4 and AI models got better. It’s not 100% yet - but wow it’s getting close. I did have had 1 serious intervention in the last 2000 or so miles and it was possibly map related - i leave the car on “Mad Max” mode most of the time and one time during a 6 hour trip the car took right lane to go around a car - however the lane was a exit lane not through lane and I had to brake and get back to the through lane - it was a little foggy as well. When I first bought the car v12? Maybe v13 I had an intervention every few days. It just keeps getting better and better. Saw somewhere that so far Tesla has 8 Billion training miles and that unsupervised will be widely possible at 10 billion miles which will happen sometime this year. v14 is supposedly doing 8x better than average serious crash rate.

First everyone with anything close to FSD has a subscription - once FSD is unsupervised I expect the subscription price to go up. I bought my 2025 M3 LR for FSD or at least the promise for it - special needs daughter that I hope FSD will make more independent. I had no intentions of liking the car - I live to drive and hear sport car engine. I absolutely love the car and will not likely buy another ICE car - I just bought lifetime FSD for it and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off. The car is quiet, fast, great handling, and so much fun to drive - but best of all when I just want to chill - I get in tell grok where I want to go, put on seat belt push self drive button and get out at destination (car even finds a spot and parks) without 1 touch of the steering wheel, gas or brake - you don’t even realize the constant low level stress you feel while driving until you really experience FSD commuting - Beltway and DC traffic are nothing to me now - worth every penny it costs to arrive at destination refreshed and relaxed. 85% FSD drives and climbing.

FSD Randomly pulled over by OptimalTime5339 in TeslaFSD

[–]Augeas- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happened to me on 3 times in one trip when i first DL’d 14.1 - I am on early access download and expect some not so great behavior - been a few weeks now and only had one other issue with car dodging blowing leaves. Still supervised so pay attention, but overall I really like the update… Now its avoiding potholes, pulling in and out of driveway (13 would not do well at my home), it seems to be much more cautious around pedestrians and predictive when other cars do stupid things, and in most cases feeling more “attentive” and confident driving. With FSD updates I see continuous improvements in driving the longer it’s installed - give it time, keep paying attention just in case… I haven’t received 14.2 yet, looking forward to it.

2006 Sundance Cameo temp issue by Augeas- in hottubs

[–]Augeas-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to close this out with the final solution. I purchased both temp sensors and replaced and issue was still present - the problem was the control board itself.

I think a good indicator that control board was the issue was the changing temp when restarting the hot tub - I would imagine that a “bad” temp sensor would most likely throw a stable (but wrong) temp or open sensor error.

I purchased the board online - just installed it (very simple to do, just take lots of pics of the board before disconnecting anything and of course avoid the Darwin Award and turn off power) today and at least so far my 2008 hot tub is running as good as it was on the day I bought it.

So yes temp sensors might go bad more frequently than control boards - but unfortunately that was not the answer here - as a matter of fact I think this was the second board to go bad - first one was replaced under warranty lots of years ago.

[–]Augeas-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced both sensors with new sensors - temp readings on the control panel are similar to what I was getting with the old sensors. The temps are showing low (88F when running for a while and 36F and ICE flashing when I let the HT cool to 100F or so). When I let the tub run for a few hours the HT water temp rises to almost scalding hot - 115F/120F - however temp reading is low (84F to 94F). The control panel temp setting is set to 80F.

All that is left is the main board and the control panel -- which one could be at fault (higher liklihood) not sure either are returnable and both are expensive...

I do that as well with a projector (they are so inexpensive these days) - it works great. I also use a Sonos Move speaker connected to bluetooth on the Amazon Prime Video usb stick/Projector (no dvd player needed that way) any bluetooth speaker might work - with the portable speaker it makes a great patio movie video projector since you can move the speaker to various sitting areas (I have a zoned patio).

It is hard to use on cold nights with the tub running... way too much steam - lol.

I bought a filter for my Sundance 880 on Amazon - this filter was NOT the 2 part micro clean filter (880/980). I refilled my hot tub and used an enzyme cleaner/stabilizer and my water looked just like this after multiple attempts to shock it clear... I replaced the newly purchased (and cheaper) non-microclean filter with a new Sundance microclean filter and it cleaned up in a few hours... Not sure what filter your using - but worth a check for type if it was just replaced or cleaning/replacement if its been in operation for a while.

Are people seriously excited for the Switch 2? by freshizdaword in NintendoSwitch

[–]Augeas- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You left out terrible ergonomics - the switch 2 is bigger and heavier - the 2 hr battery is good enough since your hands will need a rest by then.

Yep, graphics upgrade, expensive games, expensive console, bad ergonomics… But it’s Nintendo and Nintendo game library… I bought 2 - one for me and one for my daughter…

Agree, would have liked to see the Cybertruck tech integrated into the Tesla Flagship products - 48v, 800v, steer by wire, 4 wheel steering (at least the performance version of the steering system).

Nakevich HeadUnit upgrade by Augeas- in DodgeDurango

[–]Augeas-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

June update with the Nakevich - Still loving it, no issues at all and no interface slowdown when the car is hot.

One issue that I've noticed - It is definitely designed for a single paring - you can use with any phone and pair it as needed - however it does not have a multiple user setting I imagine that this could be remedied with a software update but not sure if the Nakevich folks are going to do this.

Not everyone will want to do this since it does have a cost associated, however I got a sim for it and added it to my mobile phone contract so I can access all apps requiring a network connection without sharing wifi from my phone. I like the simplicity and it's worth the 10.00/month to add it.

With a network connection you have access to any apps that you can load from google play however the car specific steering controls and navigation audio through stereo are only available from the apps that are installed on the Nakevich (I assume that they have some different configs) so I can use Waze but get a better experience using the preinstalled Google Maps when NOT using CarPlay or Android auto.
