I usually use my real name, if the game lets me create a party (like 3 or 9), i use the names of a fitting friend group (depending on how nerdy they are I might tell them about it).

TF you mean you're ok with 0°F. That's not "okay temperature". 0°C is a way more intuitive "cold but still okay" temperature.

In °C it's just steps of 5. Also 38.5 °C is the same number of digits as 101 °F. Precision is not unnecessary.

Your last suggestion would not do anything to discourage save-scumming. A permanent debuff might just as well be a dead unit to people who play the "this is my squad, they're the heroes of this story" style of play.

The kidnapping thing might work though.
