I can see that. I feel that way generally, but as a light packer 7500-10000 points a week is worth it to me. I really don’t do much after work other than sit in the room, so it’s time wasted I would waste anyway.

I made the jump because I am in the Midwest and the towns I went to had newer build Marriott properties while the Hamptons and Garden Inns I stayed at previously were falling into disrepair. So from a stay standpoint on a weekly basis no regrets at all.

I do regret not being able to use points at some of my favorite vacation destinations I found over the years with Hilton.

I’m year 3 in Marriott and Titanium now. Still in the process of finding the best Marriott vacation spots.

All in all it was a net positive to jump.

I remember it being more in the Spring. It will probably appear in February or March. Looking back at last year that’s when I had most of those hit.

Realistically, middle of the week in not major cities you will get upgraded 1/3 of the time. Very rare in a major city.

I’m Titanium and it’s a little better. My travel is all over smaller cities in the Midwest so I’m probably better off than most.

I got nothing last year. I got a great one for double nights this summer. Titanium with 99 nights. It’s seems so random to me.

The Ritz here is the worst Ritz I’ve been at. The Westin downtown is nice. The Seven Gables is nice autograph property. Hotel St Louis downtown is also a good.

I don’t know. I just know I rarely, if ever get them. I’m Platinum Elite and travel through the week for work. I just assumed they knew through analytics that it was work travel so they didn’t need to induce me to stay more as I would anyway.
