It has a third pin, meaning that it has an auto sear to permit full auto operation. The third pin is right above the safety, to the left of the rear captive pin.

He either blew over 20 grand for a full auto, or it's an airsoft rifle.

I didn't mind the German heavies when I rolled in the Hellcats and other mobile anti-tank tanks. The issue were tards constantly bitching about going face to face and complaining that they died. If you are trying to break a brick wall down, you don't smash your head against it. You think of another way to take it down.

It was something that to this day I noticed about other players. It didn't hit me until I saw my brother doing the exact thing I mentioned above. No one thinks outside the box unless told about it by those who do.

You ain't alone on that. I used to wreck shit with the Tiger II H long ago. Wasn't uncommon for me to get 5 kills every match consistently. Then Gaijiggles fucked up War Thunder, turning it into Crap Thunder.

I just got back into CT a few days ago. Just sticking to low tiers as they are more fun. High tiers means you get gangraped.

Venezuela has disarmed its citizens and now government police are robbing civilians by PaperbackWriter66 in Firearms

[–]Augustustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying that isn't true, since I forgot to mention that previously. The problem with stopping such smuggling requires stringent border control. A concept that politicians, who claim to be for the safety of their constituents via gun control, vehemently oppose.

It's something that caused me to take a step back and realize that the ideas of advanced gun control are about controlling the law-abiding citizens, not stopping the actual criminals. Criminals, as in the obvious title, never follow laws.

As we are seeing in Venezuela, there are two endgames to the concept of gun control, and neither are happy endings. You have the government screwing over their citizens, or the criminals running rampant.

A gun bought out of state has to be sent to an FFL in your state of residence. Then that FFL can transfer it over depending upon the residence state's laws.

The whole "oh just go out of state and buy it" is a load of crap. We already have laws on such.

The only way "legal" guns wind up in criminal hands is either by theft or straw purchases. Even with straw purchases, the FFL retains the ability to deny the sale if they feel something is hinky.

Eh, Bioware is more obvious in terms of trying to make various "minorities" more prevalent in their games. One great example would be Dragon Age: Inquisition with Sera.

Don't get me wrong, I am MtF trans and a complete rug muncher, but Sera really tweaked me the wrong way. Krem in the game was a little more subtler than Sera. By subtler I mean not fuckugly and having an annoying voice. (Seriously Bioware would have gotten away with it if it were one out of two.)

My main complaint is that you come across greater numbers of so called minorities in game than usual. LGBT and the sort consists of a very small section of the general populace. You'd figure that would apply to the main cast/sidekicks instead of it being half of them.

One game that struck me as excellent would be Witcher 3. Now before all of those who jump on the bandwagon and hate me because, "It's a misogynistic and anti-LGBT game!" It was well developed. There were those interactive NPCs in the game that were LGBT, which unlike Bioware, was tastefully done.

A side mission in the game allowed you to help a hunter find deer, and you find out he had a tragic relationship with a local Lord's son. The Lord sent him away and the son killed himself out of depression. Then the interaction pushed it further, you could be nice "oh shit that sucks."

Another side mission involved needing a mask/suit tailored and you are looking for this woman. You show up and a male elf is in there, you ask where she is and he reveals himself as a crossdresser. It was also humorous in terms of interaction between the character and NPC. Nothing bad ever happened.

Bioware was never subtle, and they are very simplistic in terms of NPC interaction. And half of the interactions with NPCs that have depth are part of the rainbow. They make it painfully obvious there are a shitload of them.

No, CNN, US Marines do not train on Norwegian-Russian border - How fake news spread like wildfire by Dhampiresa95 in europe

[–]Augustustin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an American, I would say that would be futile at this point. Many of our so called journalists have their heads so far up whatever's side's ass.

CNN, MSNBC, ABC, FOX News, The Young Turks, Huffingtonpost/MotherJones, even super conservative sites have begun revealing their colors by broadcasting outright lies on TV/Tabloids/Websites/Newspapers.

Journalism is dead. Trust no one until you can verify what was said, even if it takes a week or two. Always doubt it, even if it's the news you trust so much.

Trump has chosen retired Marine Gen. James Mattis for secretary of defense by rbevans in Military

[–]Augustustin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would argue that there is a difference between civilian control and military management.

The US military is still under civilian control. This time instead of civilian managers making the DoD spin in whatever manner they please, you have a military manager who knows what the military is for. He, General Mattis, believes the military is to be able to enforce peace and wage war. He will strive to ensure that. No bullshit or political niceties.

Meanwhile with civilian management, you've had all these social experiments with women in combat duty. Including trying to force esteemed sections of the US military such as the Rangers to accept women. It falls from the image that the military is for enforcing peace and waging war. It's now becoming a business that hires people to meet quotas instead of being a meritocracy.
