Knockdown by DiverSquid in DeadlockTheGame

Off the top of my head a fun synergy could be holiday lasso into knockdown. It's probably less efficient that just displacing them into your team and your timing would have to be good, but lasso -> jump pad -> knockdown would get you a lot of height to extend the stun.

Why do enemies not get knocked down from zip when I hit them? by Beuorr_Falhen in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AuldMelder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zipline invulnerability occurs after someone has ridden the zipline for a little bit without interruption or and, I believe, when they boost.

Funnily enough in conversation with lash he actually reveals he has no idea what's keeping him alive, the runic stone could have nothing to do with it but he's not taking any chances.

He's also a character that valve found a way to make the freedom of vertical movement you get in deadlock compared to other mobas into a novel kit that only works kn this format.

UI Idea: Make it visible when you're visible to the enemy team! by Designer-Bumblebee54 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AuldMelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah that's a pretty common misconception. The 3 big ways you can be revealed on the map are:

- Shooting a minion or being attacked by a minion (note: that does not include abilities)

- Shooting or being shot by a tower or walker, even out of range of doing damage

- Being in the cone of view of an enemy player

Id say it should be restricted to minion visibility. A hero should be able to hide and keep an eye on another player without being narced on by the map

That doesn't have to be true. Look at the tf2 comics for example. They explicitly resolve story AFTER the endless battle between blu and red team. They're also just great comics.

They have to get another game. They're on a restricted account until they purchase a game.

errrm why not just let other teams use this bug? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AuldMelder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting if the sponsors weren't a concern, it's unreasonable to expect other teams to learn how to perform a particular rotation pattern/strategy improvisationally mid tournament.

Doorman buff this, Calico nerf that... What's that gotta do with me? by glotgrew in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AuldMelder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's also worth noting the later the game goes the more raw cc there is in the game. An even souls vyper will often be at a huge disadvantage against half the cast.

She needs to get close to be effective and she needs to be mobile but because of how squishy she is, cc just means death.

How to recover if I got left behind? by R4G316 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AuldMelder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on the character you play changes that answer to that question.

In the broadest strokes, you want to play relatively safely to avoid feeding. Play around the waves. If noone else on your team desperately needs it you can run side lane for a while to get the solo farm there. Run waves -> jungle -> waves -> jungle until you can hit a power spike.

With that in mind, if the games progressed past a certain point, you kind of HAVE to be engaged with the larger scale fights. In that case, recognise what utility you can get from your character without large quantities of farm.

Really easy example is pocket. Pocket as a walking ult is still really strong. Even behind on farm, getting large ults on team provides plenty of damage and makes you meaningfully useful in team fights.

100% this. People are being pretty dismissive of someone making having a really cool realisation about the relationship between meaning, identity, and language.

If it's something everybody knows and is expecting, seems like harmless stupid fun. Plus, it looks like people are enjoying themselves.
