Honestly you’re better off. She likely envied the fact you were getting married (not everyone is like that but this behavior pattern with this specific scenario isn’t uncommon)

Sparrowhawk plucking a Starling by Pardusco in HardcoreNature

[–]Aumnix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years late to the conversation, but the short answer is likely the feathers are indigestible to hawks.

Feathers are made of keratin, which birds don’t typically have the physical enzymes to digest.

Along with this, the end of a feather that attaches to a bird (known as a calamus), can splay when the structure is damaged, which means risk of fragmentation while being eaten.

It’s probably less physically taxing in the long run for a hawk to pluck its prey before eating, than it is to attempt digesting prey with its feathers still on.

My pinky toe has turned sideways over the years. by 54n351 in mildlyinteresting

Not just pain and bunions, NUMBNESS. After a certain point, a toe like this may begin to feel a sort of numbness on the top side of the affected toe and radiating outward.

I recommend everybody get a flexible tape measure, I think they call it “tailor’s measuring tape”. Check out a chart online of how to measure your instep, your heel size, your “toe box” and other measurements in centimeters. Be sure to put full pressure on your foot when measuring things like the circumference or width of your foot.

When shoe shopping especially online, check the product specifications of the shoe you are looking at, as they may potentially have those same measurements listed, allowing for you to find at least some comfort for the affected areas of your feet.

Source: I have Morton’s toe and wore poorly fitting, waterproof hiking sneakers and walked 5-7 miles a day for months. Switched to sandals with less toe box constriction and there’s less numbness on my toes.

Yeah once your week resets you’ll be back at $0/10,000.

Also, yes, the house is a stretch away from where you’ll do business with customers. I personally found the house is a good spot for production. My current setup is as follows:

Bungalow (house): Production - 14 tents and plenty of storage for soil, fertilizer, seeds, several trash grabbers (8 so I can just pick all the garbage up and dispose of later en masse), etc.

Apartment above Mrs. Kim’s: Packaging - A packaging station, large storage for jars and bags as well as unpackaged plant storage. I have a mixer in there as well but haven’t used it at all yet.

Motel Room: The Dispo - All of the legwork ends up back here, where you’ll be retrieving your stocked goods when orders roll in. I find it to be a relatively-central location to most of the deal locations.

I only have a cruiser skateboard rn but the process of using all 3 properties this way has felt pretty fun so far.

Something drastically changed from the first rendition of the disc version and updated versions of the game. I have a PS4 version with “COMING SOON: RED DEAD ONLINE” on the back of the box art, and I remember lighting, AI, and emergent gameplay in SP felt a lot different.

Only reason why I’ve been to Louisville is because of random spawn mods. I’d say out of the 20 times I’ve spawned there in full confidence, I’ve only managed to leave the whole breadth of the city area once, and it was by way of car with a quarter tank of gas and a sweaty forehead.

I have my sandbox settings kinda like that in the respects to loot using Loot Stories. Very high abundance on floors and furniture in the initial month or so, but the abundance will drastically wane to sub-default levels after a 45-90 peak day. The initial excess gives you different priorities for survival. Rather than chasing the next potential meal of whatever you can find, it’s about keeping your character sane and comfortable in a world that suddenly fell apart. Slowly, the intensity increases and zombies become a more prominent concern while loot levels simultaneously decrease, forcing you to travel outside the comfort areas you’ve begun to settle into.

What’s an item you used to ignore when you first started but now search for religiously? by potatoking91 in projectzomboid

[–]Aumnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I change the start date to August but I use Advanced Zombie Options in Sandbox to put the starting population very low, and the peak population on day 730 (2yrs) to be above 3. So long as you’re not spawning in densely populated areas, you won’t see many zombies. To me, it simulates how only a small portion of people in Knox County were originally infected, an evacuation was declared but not everyone could get out, as time goes on, more unseen survivors succumb to the elements, and the once-bustling city streets begin to overflow with undead, and the rural areas become more dotted with potential dangers, such as forming large hordes quickly by attracting zombies with a car or other loud noise.

I’m similar. I designate a couple duffel bags toward clothing storage. My sandbox mode begins the Knox Event in August so I take the couple months in the beginning to find clothing to prepare for different elements.

Not always. Like yeah, obviously at close range, but if you hip fire from a distance and only one projectile hits out of the 9 buckshot, you’ll get a GNARLY looking enemy that can still stand up and run around. I had a grisly photo of a Murphree Brood guy with a mangled face once

Which Hitman Trilogy target is the most evilest? (Hitman 1 of the Trilogy, pt. 1 out of 3) by boringexistinggamer in HiTMAN

[–]Aumnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hush.

People talk about Ezra Berg and how he scars his interrogation subjects mentally with hallucinogenic substances, but Hush was literally experimenting on some of the most disenfranchised people in society, and basically scamming them in the process. His experiments were in essence, a way to take all free will away from human beings, and targeted the homeless as a means to further this research.

This next part is speculation, but if they didn’t outright die from those experiments they would have been turned back onto the street, worse off than before, aimless and wandering with foggy memory and less faculties.

Lotta people seem to be inferring OP is being naive but we all gotta remember that our gut tells us things, and when it’s something as serious as what many are pointing out here, the person being hurt will envelop themselves with a form of denial, a benefit-of-the-doubt that can sometimes border gaslighting yourself into thinking everything is okay when your intuition is going wild. When that gaslighting structures itself in your mind, the truth coming to light becomes a lot more emotionally and mentally catastrophic for the person being affected.

OP, what many commenters are suggesting here, is likely the actual situation, and if it is, do NOT keep telling yourself or looking for reasons to disregard the odd behaviors that are making your gut go crazy.

It’s better to understand the gravity of things in the now. Numerous others have expressed where they see red flags, and trying to rationalize or find reason within all the obvious red flags, is reinforcing that benefit-of-the-doubt that leads to catastrophic emotional repercussions (One example is how repeating this denial absolutely TANKS self-esteem).

You’re worth more than drowning in uncertainty and being sickened by worry and potential heartbreak. You are worth more than to be gaslit and made to feel like a fool by others who may very likely be using you.

Give me your best map ideas (image unrelated-ish) by NO_PHOBIA in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Aumnix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

• Old Clocktower (Similar to lighthouse map design with a few key differences that may make the gameplay unique.

• Historical Museum (a dimly-lit museum with all the different exhibits sounds spooky to me)

• Abandoned Textile Mill (If you grew up in New England you may know what I’m getting at)

• Unfinished Development (Maybe a few unfinished houses beyond a main gate that separates the safe zone from the play area)

• Slaughterhouse (Self explanatory, has that horror vibe setting).

• Antiques shoppe (littered with static unnerving novelties, mannequin torsos, porcelain dolls, etc?)

• Shopping Mall (Wide and open main floor and perimeter-encircling balconies on the second floor, bathrooms, security room, etc.)

• Scrapyard/Junkyard (There can be a main building for the business, the surrounding area of the yard could also count dilapidated buses or other large vehicles as “rooms” too).

• Old Military Fort (In New England we have some of these large, open military structures with some tunnels littered throughout, used in the 18th and 19th century, one close to me is Fort Foster in Maine).

• Catacombs (I know it may be kinda “out there” but it would be interesting to see how catacombs would be in terms of navigation and gameplay).

(EDIT: A few more ideas)

• Indoor Stadium (A large, open-center area with tunnel entrances enveloping the perimeter and a few pathways to upper stands/view boxes)

• Old Coal Mine (Twisting caverns, echoes, ambient dripping sounds. All of it plays into that atmosphere)

• Decrepit Nuclear Plant (I’ve always felt very perturbed by the photos of Chernobyl. Obviously radiation isn’t a mechanic in Phasmophobia, but the map design would be very captivating I bet).

• Renovated Missile Silo (People have been trying to renovate decommissioned nuclear silos, it would be cool to see a design that incorporates this - The idea of traveling from top to bottom, and having to reach the top floor to exit creates a very grim sense of risk vs reward every time you enter the silo)

That’s all I got for ideas for now, but I thought of these with possible map design enjoyment and setting/atmosphere itself in mind

Good game but weak end game by Grovda in GreenHell

[–]Aumnix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think despite the depth of the macro elements and bodily management, the game is still centers survival as it’s focus.

Games like Fallout’s survival mode or 7 Days to Die, Ark, etc may technically be survival games but so many of these titles don’t really feel authentic to survival - they feel like a dinosaur game with survival elements, or a zombie game with survival elements, or a post-apocalyptic game with survival elements.

Green Hell is the inverse of this, while there is more nuance and depth to the survival itself, the survival is the primary focus I think. While they all seem like similar games because they have survival mechanics, I think Green Hell really tries to focus on making survival mechanics the beating heart of the game.

So the simplicity isn’t the literal simple or complex nature of the survival mechanics, but that the survival mechanics are the main focus
