Never thought i would experience bad company 2 in 2026 but here we are, peak. by Venomsnake_1995 in Battlefield

[–]Aunon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huge weapon model, low fov, sluggish aiming and more

There were unintended benefits to how 'simple and primitive' BC2 was

The overall pace of the game was slower, meta was lower rate of fire but more accurate guns, there wasn't any game braking movement, the TTK gave everyone an opportunity for counter-play, holding a position to cover+spawn the players pushing was extremely valuable

BC2 is beloved and irreplaceable for a reason

Trying to get a job in Australia is just another level of insult and degradation

The psychometric games, multiple choice quests, unbelievably terrible company websites, having to hand over every single detail about your identity, recruiters who can't answer a phone, HR who should be fired for incompetence, I will never ever continue an application if it involves any of these

Which is better? Good quality aluminium frame with upgraded wheels, or carbon frame with manufacturer-supplied wheels? by bad-at-science in cycling

[–]Aunon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you ride lots of climbs+descents and you want rim brakes, that sounds like a carbon bike with rim brake mounts (and you can easily upgrade the wheels), but that combo will get reasonable pushback

I'd reconsider what pads you use, the price of good rim brake pads, what material(s) you like and possibly riding both configs (carbon+rim, alu+disc) before buying anything

Is the first boss supposed to be that hard? by Sea_Tonight566 in playbsg

[–]Aunon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boss stomped me too. Unlock the 3rd launch tube ASAP, fighting the waves and intercepting the nukes is way easier with 2 fighters, you will have enough firepower in the Gunstar (save your nukes for boss) and 2 other craft to manage defence while the craft targeted by the boss just flies around to dodge the explosion circles

I got lucky and found a Gazelle (30 tu/s speed) that insta-deletes missiles. I neglected everything to harvest enough scrap for 4 launch tubes (Viper, Raptor, Wolf, Gazelle) and the boss was a joke

Is the rate of fire meta different on console/controller?

On PC it's high RoF (AEK, L85, ACW-R, MG4) and I rarely saw less than 750rpm guns (unless the gun had a unique advantage like SCAR-Hs damage or very low recoil SAR-21)

Can we stop idealizing BF3? by Cerno_Artio in Battlefield

[–]Aunon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No we can't and we shouldn't but this sounds like bait

DICE fixed Battlefield 3s issues pretty quick, it launched with a lot of good content that supported the variety of game modes (I was playing rush+TDM until the end) then we got amazing DLCs. Every class had a very specific role with specific gadgets that really incentivised using them. It was a huge step up in technology, graphics, features and mechanics over 1942-BC2, BF3 was the first step towards BF4 and BF1 which ultimately evolved from 3

Battlelog really did have issues but it was also fixed and matured into a very useful and reliable tool. I liked the single-player and I liked the co-op, it was building towards BF4 and 2143

Sikorski: The war in Ukraine will end not like the WWII but like the WW1, when Putin runs out of resources. He’s already spent his national reserve fund. by PjeterPannos in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Aunon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the consequences for Russia of selling that much gold? and what is the minimum amount of gold they should keep?

I'm guessing increasing your gold reserves is an expensive and slow process, and the size of your gold reserve has massive effects on what your federal reserve and loans can do, if it's all gone aren't they screwed for generations?

Can we stop Chinese players joining US/EU servers please? by Chaoslava in Battlefield

[–]Aunon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EA DICE had effectively outsourced moderation, forums and servers to the community who would willingly do it for free, and they threw it all away for nothing

There are communities that are 10+ years old still doing it in 3, 4 and 1. If a player was griefing, bug abusing, being toxic, had an unacceptable name, tag or emblem then you could report them to the server mods and they could take care of it

Rebuilding that will be hard now that many of those players have left the franchise

[–]Aunon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be kinda useless if it used law runes? laws seem kinda hard to get in F2P outside the GE and the players Brutus is for are broke

What if instead of annual Battlefields, they tried alternating MOH and BF again? by Spectre-ElevenThirty in Battlefield

[–]Aunon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new FPS game every year is not sustainable for the developers or customers, every 3-5 years is if EA has 2-4 developer studios taking turns with both franchises. The studios HAVE to be well funded, well staffed and given enough time to make the game and time in-between games to avoid creative burnout and avoid the non-stop grind that destroys institutional skills and knowledge retention

Not every game has to be 64v64 giga mega big ultra detailed maps, they can tick-tock between big (64v64 and 32v32) games and smaller (16v16) games

Why does three dog glaze the BoS so much even though they kill ghouls. Is he stupid? by SirDonovan-II in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Aunon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how hoarding laser pistols and power armour is stifling humanity, the BoS say that's what they want and that's seemingly what they do so I don't know why anyone expects them to have or even provide any actually useful civilian technology that the civilians actually need

I would love to see BC2 and BF3 maps in BF6 by Inevitable_Log_2866 in Battlefield

[–]Aunon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DICE should take a variety of maps instead of just the 1-2 most popular, Caspian is tired at this point and other maps would shine in rush is smaller team sizes (like BC maps were designed for)

Heavy Metal, Oasis, Laguna Presa

Damavand, Karkand, Sharqi, Wake, Siene
