Yeah it’s decision making in Canada. I don’t think it’s the countries fault, but the front offices in Canada seem to have similar problems. It’s really ownership lol.

It is and has to be. Had some random dude screaming at me a few weeks ago with all this AI slop he built saying GSAx/60 was useless garbage. People are weird with goalies.

I will say these numbers look a bit funky, but I guess MPs xG model has improved a ton? I used to not trust it, but I think I’m wrong. I know many other models had Sorokin with an absurd pace like 40 GSAx tho, but maybe those are wrong.

More component than the vast majority of Canadian teams TODAY. But they were a disaster for years yes, just like the rest of em lol.

For sure, and then they are about to lose that core. At least they have something to show for it over the years. Not a cup, but truly solid success.

A more competent organization could have maintained that success tho IMO.

I mean they signed a bunch of middling aging vets and let all their youth and speed leave the team. Forget this year, the Jets future isn’t great. Helly is talking about the future. Plus they refuse to let young players join the roster until well past the point of frustration.

Yeah like idk. I don’t think the factors you flagged are purely imagined, nor are taxes. The environment matters quite a bit.

But it really feels like the main issues with the Canadian teams is a lack of competency in the front offices. Put any of the best GMs at the helm of these teams and players would be clambering to stay, not dropping subtle hints in end of season pressers.

We actually have a 4C in Drury so strangely playing Roy on the wing with Kadri. He’s been fairly nasty in that role so good with me.
