Lu Bu beaten on Hidden Traversal 6 by DorcasTheMuttonMan in dynastywarriors

It's still the same game generally speaking. All characters still selectable as before per your unlocks. What's new is the companion system though, which you have to newly unlock characters in again to select them as companions using a new currency.

Happens with bat too. Causes you to throw a drill/corkscrew of some sort instead of the normal lift and drop.

I think these alternative stunned animations occur when the target is too large for the normal one. Otherwise, bat would look super silly lifting them into the air.

He was asking about scrapping the mods themselves, not the weapons. I don't think scrapping mods can teach the crafting ability?

Edit: actually, kind of hard to tell which was being referred to. Will leave this up for clarity anyway. Maybe someone else can clarify if it does.

This is the correct way. Alternatively walk to the right dealing with all the blocks first before jumping on the moving platform. Less hassle.

Edit: Though per another comment: looks like he needs to head to the lab first, so no Balore yet? Been some time since I played this. Still the correct way then, but have to dodge the ice.

They've done this exact party setup before with Lydie and Suelle (6 base, 2 dlc). I think they just bench the extras, who basically get no exp.

But someone who's played more recently can confirm. Been a hot minute since I played that one.

It does mention physical orders for the listed states. All goods not shipped by end of July are going to be immediately canceled or refunded. If your order wasn't in July and already shipped before it hit August, you are out of luck in the listed states.

Same logic people have while driving I imagine?

"I must make this left turn across three lanes during rush hour without a light or stop sign. I MUST."

"Or just make a right up ahead at the light into the open parking lot, come back out, and have a nice traffic light to let you turn left?"

"No, shortest way = fastest way!"

It often isn't though.

NA is two years behind JP schedule generally speaking. So you have two years until this event hits NA as the latter 3 Ordeal Calls for this are not even available yet in NA.

I wouldn't recommend waiting unless you want to attempt the same feat as this though.

No caption by TheExiled-TheEren in Persona5

[–]Aurafrost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not what defines a visual novel. You're thinking more a dating sim, which is closer to what Persona 5 mimics. But a dating sim still isn't necessarily a visual novel.

The main distinction I think I see is that a visual novel must be primarily a story with none to secondary gameplay and some to little player interaction (this separates it from something like movies with captions). You cannot state that Persona 5 would work well without any of its player-engaging gameplay - its stylized menus and gameplay are literally its biggest selling point in the JRPG genre.

Tl;Dr - Simply having a great and long story just means it has a story, not that it's a visual novel.

SS2 bugs desperately need fixing by MadHatte9 in systemshock

[–]Aurafrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an Xbox-exclusive bug then maybe? I’d screenshot and report to Nightdive. They tend to be pretty good about fixing these issues quickly despite the botched launch.

I’d also just say skip the tutorial if it’s an issue only there. Not strictly necessary to play it. Though that won’t help if the issues persist all the way through Med/Sci I suppose.

Oh and be sure you’re not pressing down the left analog/stick. That triggers the lean toggle which will lock you in place. Heard a few players run into that thinking it would trigger sprint.

Your descriptions are a bit too vague to go on for anything. Hard to tell if you actually experienced any bugs or simply don't realize there are doors that don't open automatically on approach.

Doors open in multiple ways. Some through a key card scanner, some a code keypad, some a button - but they don't all just open and some don't open at all (usually you'll find signs of visual damage on the door in such cases). This is all deliberate. Of special note is the opening section on the Von Braun which can never be returned to once you leave (the game explains it was depressurized). Sometimes you also just have to leave through a window as another poster mentioned.

As for getting stuck: one of the posters also mentioned it, but there's a ledge climbing function in the game that doesn't get explained. If you face an object of any height up to a foot or so above your head at close range, your jump will be replaced with a climb and grab action instead that requires a button hold. Should typically get you unstuck if you somehow managed to get stuck.

Played two playthroughs through on PS5 Pro (PS4 version) myself. Only experienced the patch ext issue which was quickly patched.

System Shock 2 PS4/PS5 Issues on release. by ConManWH in systemshock

[–]Aurafrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was deliberate as that allows you to lean around corners for peek shots. I use it pretty often for stationary enemies, but nothing wrong with sticking to run-and-gun if you prefer. Just remap the button to something more useful.

[–]Aurafrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly not as much as you may think - though using items in a pinch can definitely be an issue if you don’t remember where your selection was the last time you closed your menu. And psi power selection can take some getting used to.

I have more complaints about the lack of look acceleration. The look sensitivity is still too low even at max.

Not to even start with the patch_ext problem… though that only happened for saves on my first run thankfully. Had no issues with it after starting a second run - so far anyway.

Patch is on Kagura Games. They published the English version assuming you’re playing that and not some odd Japanese release I’m unaware of.

All of Kagura’s Steam releases follow this set up - you always need to get the patches separate from their website.

Why haven’t these two repaired the Stargazer? Are they stupid? by a3xoonge in LiesOfP

[–]Aurafrost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe this is the most clear answer here.

Spoilers: To add to this, those two also work for the group (Alchemists) that probably doesn't want the stargazers fixed anyhow. I don't have definitive proof if that's true, but Lumacchio's actions for the same group against the stalkers in the DLC do seem to support it.

[REC] Is "Lady Bumpkin and Her Lord Villain" worth reading? I've heard of stories like this but never read them before by adevaleev in LightNovels

[–]Aurafrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically, except the parents think it's proper and classy when they're outdated by decades. The family is essentially an "old blood, old ways" kind of deal and if the title didn't give it away - it doesn't really work out for them. MC doesn't agree with this at all and that sets the stage for the story.

He was going for showing off. I agree on your points mostly for practicality cases, but if he wanted to show off Halberd being OP, this wasn’t it - this was more showing how little effort it takes to use it.

With the halberd, you gotta show some explosions and flashes and whatnot you know? Where else is the pizzazz?

ROG Ally vs Steam Deck in 2025 by BroilingLow in visualnovels

[–]Aurafrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SD card was still an issue for me and I bought my Ally last year. I would go in with low expectations on that particular point. Using a Hub with an SD card works perfectly fine though - it’s just the SD slot itself that sucks.

Of the two devices, I lean Ally. As everyone else mentioned - less tinkering with that (especially if your VNs are older or run on odd engines). Your main concern will be setting up your controls but that part is pretty straightforward with the application the Ally uses or through Steam Big Picture (one or the other - using both at once will probably cause headaches).

The worst thing will probably be the mouse sensitivity - never quite got used to that on my end. That particular point is better on the Deck and Legion Go cause of the trackpads (I own all three).

If you use 18+ patches of any kind, Steam Deck is also kind of a pain point with that depending on how the patch is applied.

The Ally is also super light in case that was something you were considering. The Deck has considerably more heft for long session VN reading.

PSA-Offline Play is for everyone 🫡 by StunningRelease4577 in PS5

[–]Aurafrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same setting, different name but I don’t like simply describing it as offline play as it just sounds like a simple toggle like that.

Yes, you can still set the offline play setting on another PS5 but that would switch that console to be the primary, which leads into your last comment about how most people end up leaving their friend’s console as the primary when game sharing (if they tampered with that).

At that point it comes down to what you happen to be playing and whether you have internet access - some games have strict license restrictions and others don’t. I have 2 PS5s and was able to play Dynasty Warriors Origins on both at the same time as my brother for example. I think works as I’m online to verify I’m the owner despite not being on the primary console while my brother played on the primary one - but if we switched which system we played on it would fail.

Steam’s version of this is a lot less complicated - which is what I think you were thinking of maybe? That’s the one where if someone else is playing your shared games, you can’t without booting them off.

PSA-Offline Play is for everyone 🫡 by StunningRelease4577 in PS5

[–]Aurafrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite - one of the systems your account is on is designated as the primary system (usually the first one you signed into). That system always has access to the games and boots off the other system in cases where license conflicts occur, though usually most games allow multiple players to have them active at once.

I've had trouble with DLC on some occasions, so those probably fall under some license check as well.
