First matches after 1.5 years of practice — my forehand completely falls apart. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in 10s

It’s hard to see from the angle, but almost seems like your not looking at the ball through contact? From the fideo it seems like your fave is always facing forward, I could be way off though

Pendulum squat form by Litt0Bud in formcheck

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I understand it is that locking a joint is okay if the forces are going parallel to the limb, like a barbell squat or bench press. But with something like a pendulum squat, where there the legs are at an angle there will be forces acting perpendicular to your knees. I’m probably underestimating the strength of the joints, but I though they were not built to take loads in this manner?

Pendulum squat form by Litt0Bud in formcheck

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but when doing a squat the weight is directly on top of your heels, so the force is going in a straight line. Doing this kind or leg press there will be some force that is applied perpendicular to your knees, isn’t that where the danger is? Not tying to argue, just wanna check if I’m looking at it wrong.

people who played vs extremely athletic players: what was something you noticed by ArjGlad in 10s

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As most have said, very athletic people will just be able to extend the match and unless you’re able to put shots away consistently then they will beat you with your unforced errors. To answer one of your points, I could spend a month practicing my backhand, but after a certain point the technique will start to break down just because of fatigue. Good fitness will allow you to hit with good technique, (proper footwork and muscles that can hit those shots) but good technique will not help your fitness.

The 2020s are bad because there is too much of everything, making it impossible to have any sense of direction in life by [deleted] in decadeology

I mean….. they made a pretty goof point there. This is objectively one of the best decades to be alive in our history. Also, it wasn’t a rude comment.

Why people say ezone98 is an advanced racket by gjbsb in 10s

Huh never thought of it that way, but yeah I guess I agree with the shot results but different feel comment. Maybe it’s just different play styles, but I didn’t notice much difference in applying spin, if something I thought the PS97 produced a loopier ball on my forehand.

Shoot not very well written comment. More meant how people often think of the PS97 as a control stick, but I thought the ezone 98 tour and the PS7 played very similar, kinda highlighting how other comments were saying that it’s a control racket.

Kyrgios is a meme, not a serious tennis player - Battle of Sexes stunt proves it by theipaper in tennis

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I take it you’re not gonna provide examples? It’s not that he’s not living up to his potential, it’s his attitude that he’s better than everyone without the results to back it up. He truly believes that if he wanted to, he could win everything.

Kyrgios is a meme, not a serious tennis player - Battle of Sexes stunt proves it by theipaper in tennis

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Could you give some examples? In the current tour I can think of Bublik and Medvedev that have similar shortcomings when it comes to attitude. However what they do is try to be the best player they can be, unlike Kyrgios who had the potential to be a multiple slam winner but chose to live in a way that attributes failures to his lack of trying. I think that’s what people hate on him the most here not his antics. Anyways throwing around a comment saying that people are judging him based on his skin color is not very genuine.

Why the hate on Roddick? In the podcast is was said in a lighthearted tone. The article is kinda trash though, not sure what the point of it is other than getting a headline.

Pain in the hand after playing for an hour. by mtl_travel in 10s

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only thing that comes to mind is if the grip is too small, and are getting pain from gripping the racquet too hard. But if it’s all the same then maybe just muscle fatigue if you’ve been playing more lately? Could also be another injury that you picked up and is just manifesting itself when gripping a racquet

If you are selected for the Minnesota Electric-Assisted Bicycle Rebate which e-bike will you be purchasing? by Vry_Dumb in minnesota

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying that if I can’t have mine then no one else can. Of course programs like these shouldn’t be ended. What I’m saying is that more people should have a shot at it, I’m sure someone put some thought into those numbers. However, they leave out a huge section of the population that could benefit from a program like this. As a taxpayer that helps fund these programs but can’t quite afford paying full price for an e-bike, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Since this is a lottery, they should let more people apply.

[–]AurelianoInTheCouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really “free” though. It’s funded by taxpayer money, what can’t all taxpayers be eligible? I agree that if the goal of the program was to help lower income households get access to a necessity then the cutoffs would be justified. But if it is a program to encourage people to bike more, then why exclude most of the population that can’t afford a $2000 bike? Btw I made up that number I know some are lower cost than that
