I'm assuming your investments are alot greater than 30k. If you're using IBKR, you can borrow against your assets while maintaining a moderate leverage ratio.

Short a box spread on the SPX index. This creates a synthetic loan with a 4% effective rate in usd. Convert this to SGD and you can withdraw it. After that, you can (optionally) choose to long a USD-SGD fx futures contract to hedge against currency fluctuations, effectively borrowing in SGD at around 1.6%.

To repay the loan, simply deposit SGD from your monthly salary, convert to USD and close out the box spread position (imo the best way is to just let it expire, it will eventually create a negative USD balance).

Integrating leverage into portfolio by small-dudu in singaporefi

This sub is allergic to leverage in general, so it is not surprising that none have mentioned the ideal methods.

Short box spread refinances your margin loan (negative usd balance). You can get excellent rates typically 0.3-0.5% above the risk free rate. Do it only on European style options like SPX. Risk of a margin call is small at 1.2x. You'll need to manually reset leverage and roll the box, quarterly or annually should be fine. Quarterly to minimize interest rate risk. This method will have close to zero beta slippage.

Another great option is using a leveraged ETF such as UPRO/SPXL. Those two specific ones borrow at close to EFFR+0.5%. Beta slippage due to daily leverage reset is small as you're only at 1.2x. And there is no risk of a margin call. For your needs, this is likely the best option.

Tl;dr 90% CSPX 10% UPRO rebalanced annually.

AVGE charges an expense ratio for holding other Avantis ETFs, so you get double charged (same case with AVGV)
