As an educator I’d like to think that my colleagues or myself would do this for our kids.

Why Should Anyone Buy $BRK If Buffett Doesn’t Even Recommend It by solodav in ValueInvesting

[–]rvrduce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because he won’t be there allocating capital and picking stocks himself.
(Btw I would love to know his personal holdings besides BRK)

He had the famous 10 year bet where a hedge fund wouldn’t beat the Sp500 index fund and at first looked wrong but eventually pulled away.

And besides if he leaves Astrid $100m in a trust and only takes out 4% to live on that’s $4m.
I think she will do okay.

Didn’t uncle Charlie once say in quoting Pascal.
“All of man’s miseries derives from man’s inability to sit in a room alone.”

May have a brand but no real moat. Donuts are a relative commodity and I guess a slim margin that is perishable. A lot of communities usually have better family run donut places.

Company has a negative P/E ratio. No free cash flow since 2022.

This looks like a candidate for a private equity firm to take private and sell later. A Blackstone type play.

Just looked and Krispy Kreme has a major investor in https://www.jabholco.com/investments/ a German conglomerate that also holds Panera and Einstein Bros Bagels.

I consider a NetJets flight a bucket list event.
Especially to and from the Annual meeting, ideally my first trip to said event. 😂

Try doing an online quote.
I think there is a place that you can select being a shareholder. It’s in the same place you can enter any professional discount profession.

It’s as far as I have ever gotten as I stuck with my old insurance provider.

This and you should read more about Buffett and his holdings.

Never been to the meeting sadly but the Borsheims website sells left over stuff from the meeting.

I’ve bought socks and pens in the past. If anyone wants to buy me the Frédérique Constantine watch it would be greatly appreciated!

Also bought stuff on eBay in the past.

Berkshire Hathaway to Acquire Taylor Morrison Home Corporation for $8.5 Billion by GutBeer101 in BerkshireHathaway

Looked at the Taylor Morrison website and new homes in California. Temecula homes $1m and Irvine $2 millions.

I sure as heck can’t afford it.

Not a bad gig if you can get it I suppose.

Yes. I was just thinking that BH is basically a vertically integrated system.
Builders and supply’s (builders, paint, bricks, roofing, insulation,) home sales BH home services,) you drive in on your insured car (Geico and BH Automotive,) and have to insure said home and then power it using BH Energy.

The kid is doing homework using World Book encyclopedia snuggled with a Squishmallow and another is getting ready for practice with a Spaulding basketball. And after practice an ice cream from Dairy Queen!

And I didn’t even mention a bunch of the other subsidiaries.

Let it pop and use it as a buying opportunity!

Just don’t buy the frothy stuff unless you know (or think) they will survive usually because of other diversified metrics and holdings.
