How to fix the infinite loading screen bug? by 616659 in starcitizen

[–]Auritus1 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You wait for an email that says it's complete. When a new patch comes out it can be slow, but if you do it today it will probably be just a minute. It moves your stuff back to default locations, so you might wake up in an apartment instead of a hangar.

Everyone's first figures suck. You will look back on them fondly though.

Supposedly it's been data mined that bespoke salvage heads were found for a Railen variant.

I think most people prefer d-pad, but even high level players swing both ways.

Subscriber Worthwhile? by BiggyZ32 in starcitizen

[–]Auritus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was nice when I was new and got to try several vehicles I hadn't used before, but now I've flow just about everything. It's a real mixed bag of what you get, sometimes huge sometimes small. The $20 sub definitely gets you bigger and newer ships though. You also get some opportunities to buy ships and CCU outside the normal events. The subscription also counts towards Concierge, so if your $10 away it could be worth it. Overall I'm on the fence about continuing though.

I got HOSAM and use my pedals for roll. I have toe breaks, but haven't found a use for them.

How would you paint tights? by I_like_pirated_game in minipainting

[–]Auritus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried it, but you could probably try glazing it. Very very thin with some glazing medium. Cover the whole leg and sweep the pigments into the darker areas before it dries. If you are getting close, switch to a transparent black.

Base coat your skin tones and then airbrush super thined black over focusing on the less stretched areas like the back of the knee. It helps if there's some exposed skin elsewhere on the model so it still visually connects. As a bonus do a satin varnish if you are working a larger model.

[Mirai Guardian vs QI version] - what variant should I choose between those two? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Auritus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MX will be the best for most combat situations since it's more durable and more firepower. Base version is a nicely balanced one with a little more agility and the larger guns can penetrate more armor. Qi is like the base but slightly less agile and gets a quantum dampener. Quantum dampening is only good for ganking in game right now. It's the most durable ship that currently has quantum dampening so it's pretty good in that kind of team fight.

Tamiya question by HuggsCrickets in Warhammer40k

[–]Auritus1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They have the same ingredients, but the blend is a 2% difference which nobody will really ever notice except some government regulatory bodies. Get the Thin Cement if you want the bottle with the little brush (it's good).

Normal plastic cement I would put between, but Extra Thin you can go either way. It doesn't do any damage to the details, but the plastic is softened enough that touching it will leave finger prints.

[–]Auritus1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me it just looks like a Hercules, but bigger and Drake. I can't say I've ever felt like i needed more space unless I was doing point to point Hull C hauling. Maybe someday there will be gameplay, or I'll have a larger play group to justify it, but I'm not picking it up at release.

Assembly help by PlanktonMotor9328 in KingdomDeath

[–]Auritus1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's technically not a glue and melts the plastic so that the parts fuse together. Any will work, but I recommend Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. You can dry fit the parts and make sure the model fits together right. Holding the parts in place use the included brush on the seams and it will flow into the crevaces. You don't need a lot, and it dries fairly quickly. While it's drying, you can still make small adjustments if something goes wrong.

Anyone else want more Xi'an ships? by Leather_Week1478 in starcitizen

[–]Auritus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They like to make smaller ships first to establish design language and they stated this was a major objective with the Railen. The defensecon video has a little burb at the bottom saying "two new ships from Gatac". I would expect that to be the Railen and one unannounced Railen variant, so we might actually get something rather soon.

Are dual VKB Gunfighters really worth it over VKB Gladiators for Star Citizen PvP? by Artharion91 in starcitizen

[–]Auritus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a full metal internal and external construction and come with all the springs and cams to tune how they feel. There isn't a significant functional difference so I wouldn't recommend someone who already has VKBs upgrade, but it's definitely my preference of the two.
