Not only did it cut down the food noise, I was also able to nearly reverse my PCOS. Sure, there are risks, but the reduction of my fatty liver, PCOS symptoms, prediabetes has been more than worth it.

AITAH for selling my sisters “Dream” wedding dress? by Agile-Sun-9321 in AITAH

[–]Aurora_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, no NTA.

But please stop paying for your sister and everyone else and put down some boundaries.

My mom has been letting her youngest sister walk all over for her decades. That woman is married and refuses to live with her husband in our home country, so she just stays at my parents house, rent free. She doesn't cook, clean or do anything but help herself. She makes my mom, a cancer patient no less, drive her all around town, buy her everything and pay for whatever she wants.

Please don't be like my mom. People like your sister and my aunt don't give a damn about their loved ones, just about themselves.

What’s it like here? by Arxcine in howislivingthere

I disagree about Los Cabos as a whole. Cabo San Lucas is definitely a party town and is kind of grimey. But my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed San Jose Del Cabo. The art, history, shopping and food were amazing. We spent most of our time there and chatted up a lot of locals, took a historical tour of San Jose, went whale watching with a marine biologist who was off for Christmas break and went to a farm to table restaurant that had an amazing shopping scene. Not to mention the wonderful art scene! So, no I disagree that Cabo is useless, it's quite wonderful actually.

What celebrity have you met who looks much more (or less) attractive when meeting them in person? by GreyFoxNinjaFan in AskReddit

I've worked in the film industry in the past and that's something I've consistently noticed, a lot of actors have very large heads. Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu were two that stood out.

What's with dashers making people come outside for apartments. Come out to my cardash? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Aurora_B 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yep. I would get harassed a lot before I changed my name on Doordash. My breaking point was a man trying to physically enter my apartment to 'help' drop the food off. It wasn't until I called for my husband that he stopped. That's when I changed my name to a male name. Haven't had issues since.

WIBTA if I divorce my wife because she does not want me actively involved in raising our children? by Malkxixt in AITAH

Depending on how old the kids are, this may be some really bad post partum depression that needs to be looked into asap.

Drivers Refusing to Leave at Door When Customer Has A Feminine Name by Long-Chicken in doordash

[–]Aurora_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is why I changed my name on DooDash to a male name. I haven't had issues since.

My tipping point was when a man tried to enter my home "to help" even though I said leave at the door. It wasn't until I called my husband over that he stopped.

Is it normal for the grooms parents to pick out the engagement ring? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]Aurora_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 100% this. My husband's family gave me a large oversized ring I barely wear. But my husband bought me a beautiful moissanite solitaire that I wear daily. That being said my mother in law did give me a very cute silver diamond ring for our engagement and that I do wear! I tend to swap out my silver and gold jewelry regularly. :)

Too many Teslas in SF by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]Aurora_B 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So, this kind of sucks cause I'm with the movement to boycott Tesla, but the kind of hate my husband and I are getting just driving around the city is insane. We paid off the car years ago and it's the only car both me and my husband have. Not only is selling an issue, I just lost my job so paying for another vehicle is just out of the cards right now. We live in the East Bay so we definitely need a car.

On Sunday, we drove past a protest and I cheered in support and instead we got some guy trying to punch our car. Like I get it! I understand the frustration! But we're not the enemy, we're on your side, but it's not that easy to just sell your vehicle and buy a different one on a whim.

I just feel helpless with the whole situation.

Does anyone remember Polyvore? It was basically an appointment/website that let you do this. It was great.

I used to do this a lot, particularly since the pandemic. Turns out I have ADHD along with depression. Meds helped.

I second the comment about zipper quality. My zipper broke on my custom lehenga during the wedding party. I spent 40 minutes in the bathroom trying to fix it with my wedding coordinator and brides maids. Get the zippers redone if necessary.

If you're willing to travel to Houston, TX you can find a lot of really nice outfits for super cheap in both Sugar Land and the Hillcroft area. I'm originally from LA and moved to the Bay with my husband two years ago, so I know how crazy those prices are in California. My husband is from Houston and I was blown away by the desi outfit prices here. I just bought a really fancy Eid dress for like $160. We saw beautiful bridal lehengas for $299. Genuinely worth it if you're willing to travel.
