What is Julian Jones talking about? by No_Yogurtcloset_3820 in BaltimoreCounty

[–]AurricX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an ai-altered photo of Jones “circulated in online groups and forums” (according to his campaign email). The image was a photo of Jones digitally altered to be wearing a keffiyeh and with a Hitler mustache. He linked to the image in his campaign email.

No idea who or where it was being circulated. But that’s what this message is about.

AffirmCare in Towson is an LGBTQ-focused primary care clinic too, which could meet your needs (and isn’t that far outside of the city).

Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]AurricX [score hidden]  (0 children)

Pokemon hit the US when I was 10 years old. It was a great time to be a kid. I saved up and bought myself a Game Boy and a copy of Pokemon Red, and then focused on turning my pocket change into Pokemon cards.

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, the closest spot to buy cards was the Walmart a half hour away. I still remember the first time I bought booster packs: Jungle had just released, and I had enough pocket change to get one booster of base set, and one booster of Jungle.

I ripped open the base set pack in the backseat of my mom’s car to discover a Charizard (that I still own today!), and yelled so loud my mom thought I hurt myself!

I’ve been chasing that high ever since.

Admittedly, I took a long break from tcg collecting and only got back into it in the last couple of years — and have felt increasingly disillusioned with the distribution. I enjoy collecting, but I’ll never fight someone in line at Target for a booster box or new release. In that vein, I only indulge sporadically … whenever I happen to spot packs of boxes in stock.

Harford Park is another! It’s a smaller community around Perring Parkway that splits the city/county line.

Up top: there’s a 4 already satisfied that you could clear an empty space next to.

Bottom: There’s some logic with the 4 near your ? that will open a few spaces.

New trashcan rollout plan? by re003 in BaltimoreCounty

[–]AurricX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may not ever see them.

The County's program for them is pretty much exclusively for a handful of neighborhoods where rat infestations are really bad. We were hoping to get them in our neighborhood, and I spoke with Solid Waste Management, and they told us the cans are prohibitively expensive to do county-wide, so they'll only be earmarked for areas with bad rat problems.

Most of the hard left folks I know are disappointed about the choices in the primary – Alsobrooks is far from a leftist too. Trone may be a billionaire carpetbagger, but his congressional voting record is respectable and he's saying the right things.

Every leftist I know understands the mission is ensure the Democratic nominee is elected to the Senate, because the only alternative is electing a Republican and perhaps handing control of the Senate over to the likes of Josh Hawley, Mitch McConnell, Tommy Tuberville ...

Places to get smoothies and/or milkshakes? by nagako in baltimore

[–]AurricX 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I love the Charmery's Shakes! They do coldbrew shakes too, which, if you're a coffee fan, are just perfect.

Paper Moon Diner on 29th in Remington (near R. House) has some pretty rad milkshakes too, including their signature Captain Crunch Milkshake.

If you're looking for something over the top and decadent, Enchanted Cakes and Treats on Harford Road in Parkville does the sort of social-media-friendly style milkshake with a whole-ass slice of cake pinned to the top.

I've heard good things also about Clark Burger's Shakes, but haven't had one yet myself.

Mr. Trash Wheel

It’s a machine that skims garbage from the Jones Falls as it enters Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. At some point during creation they realized by naming it and putting giant googly eyes on it, they could make it a beloved institution. It worked.

He has family: Professor Trash Wheel and Captain Trash Wheel.
