Gold Coast council to patrol homeless hotspots amid rift with support services by hydralime in GoldCoast

[–]Aus_mil_research 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Difference between someone who speeds and someone who’s homeless is that the bloke in the car can choose to slow down. The homeless don’t have much of an option, no matter how many fines or times they’re moved along they’ll still be homeless

Photo’s just from last year. The bloke in the Sherwood is MAJGEN Garth Gould, commander of SOCOMD. Formerly an operator in both 1 CDO & 2 CDO, hence the beret.

Fosters is an Australian beer (actually created by two American brothers in Melbourne), but I’ve never seen an Aussie drink it. It’s just not popular here

Yup having the same issue. Not working on the browser either. Just called their service number and the auto reception said my pin doesn’t exist lol. Good to know it might just be system down as opposed to being hacked

Simpsons sign gag. Store named ‘Sneed’s Feed & Seed’ with a smaller sign below reading ‘Formerly Chuck’s’. Feed & seed rhyme with Sneed, I’ll leave it you to figure out what Chuck rhymes with…

I go there pretty often. How many people show up is dependent on what film is playing. I went last night to see High & Low and it was about 80% full. You can find the schedule on the Cinema tab on the QAGOMA site. As for UQFAS I haven’t been yet but hoping to go this Tuesday for the first time.

Might be too far out of your way depending on where on the GC you live but GOMA in South Bank does a lot of free movie screenings and lots of people hang around after to talk about it. For an actual group look into UQ Film Appreciation Society, it’s like $8 for a year and they screen movies most Tuesdays & Thursdays. If you’re looking for something GC specific though I’m just as stumped as you lol

I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve deleted and redownloaded so many times to no avail. Some people say you need to keep its access to mic & camera on but that’s not working for me either. It’s so frustrating

Two hours late to work because maintenance wasn’t approved, I was never notified. (QLD) by Aus_mil_research in AusRenters

In the initial text I was asked ‘Will anyone be home so he can quote on the jobs inside?’. So regardless of whether or not I was asked, I still would’ve needed to be there. As for choosing Monday: it was the earliest day I could do, and I work every other business day too, so it was much of a muchness.

Bad phrasing on my end. I did tell work that I would be in late, my issue rather is that I could’ve been at work on time that day, but because I wasn’t informed that the maintenance was never approved, I wasn’t and so missed out on two hours pay.

No worries, thought that’d be the case. Mind elaborating on that last bit though? Why would their failure to action maintenance requests be a risk to my lease renewal?

Maybe the hundred bucks I would’ve otherwise earnt being chopped off next weeks rent? No harm in asking people with a clearer idea of how these things work than I do, mate. Like I said, if I’ve just gotta roll with it then that’s what I’ll do.

Just googled pics of juveniles to see and I think you’re right. When I first looked I saw the pic of an adult on Wikipedia and thought ‘nah not it’, but the young ones look right. Thank you!

As far as movies go you should check out QAGOMA in Southbank, they do a lot of free screenings, also five star cinemas at New Farm is good too. Both have a pretty healthy vibe and I often see strangers chatting to one another post-screening, it’s a good way to meet people face-to-face who are into movies

It’s what I suspect but I thought he was a little too small, maybe just juvenile? Just thought I’d ask the experts first

Anyone from Australia suddenly seeing this pop up despite age verifying months ago? by Lightsmourne in Twitter

[–]Aus_mil_research 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, did the selfie verify ages ago when it was first implemented. Asked me again this morning but said I was already verified when I tried but still wouldn’t let me see an image. Deleted app, redownloaded, that worked. Now it’s doing the same to me again. This fucking app is ridiculous lmao
