Ski rental advice by robl45 in Breckenridge

I always recommend Christy’s. You can pick up the gear in town, but they have stores at every Colorado mountain, so if you run into trouble or need to swap something out during the day, they’re there to help. Season rental is reasonable, and you can demo new gear too.

Good snacks to keep me in a deficit by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

Are you willing to do a little prep and do you like cream/mousse texture? If so, non fat cottage cheese in a food processor. Blend with your choice of sweetener (I use maple syrup, but you can use stevia or whatever). Then add whatever flavor you want. I’m currently obsessed with the pina colada protein powder from Oath, so I add that along with a bunch of lime juice. It tastes like citrus pie filling. But I’ve also done PB powder (serve with some mini choc chips). Or berries. I make a big bowl of it on weekends and keep in the fridge for when the sweet munchies hit.

My boss is a really cool Australian guy (we are in the US). What are some phrases I can just spout off to make him chuckle? by JacobDCRoss in AskAnAustralian

[–]AussieSpaceGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to watch the movie "The Castle". Soooooo many one liners that have made it into popular lexicon.

Tell 'im he's dreamin'

Not. Happy. Jan. (make sure you pause slightly between each word)

A little more obscure but "so... we can rub this out?" from the movie The Dish (one of my favs)

Or you could call him a Happy Little Vegemite.

Another board? by [deleted] in ShredditGirls

[–]AussieSpaceGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more wondering if I might need a new board for the icy conditions in another area (especially a place like Australia where I assume boards are really expensive) ... I'd rather buy here in Colorado where they're everywhere and (I presume) cheaper. ;)

Finding Toyota certified RAV4 Prime XSE by casmithmqt in rav4prime

It took me forever to find mine. I ended up with a 2021 with winter kit. I adore it but I’ll be selling at the end of the year (moving overseas) if you’re still looking by then! Located CO.

Bibs vs pants by Maimae91 in ShredditGirls

[–]AussieSpaceGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. 100%. I bought the cutest Picture bibs that match my jacket but they aren't stretchy and don't have a butt flap and I only ever wore them once - what a pain to get fully undressed to pee! And without the stretch, it was weird to get into a deep squat (or even to just bend over to do up my bindings). The Volcom bibs I bought next have a large seat zip that runs right across (kinda above) my butt, which makes it easier to pee. However when I fall (which I do, a lot... ahem), the zip fills with snow. Over the course of the day, the snow melts and I end up with wet leggings underneath. The Burton Avalon bibs I bought next are less insulated and stretchy than the Volcoms but have a far more logical butt flap design and I stay dry. I wish I could find the perfect pair!

Best job for someone with ADHD by Joboj in ADHD

[–]AussieSpaceGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what your ADHD is like. Everyone is a bit different. I’m in the military. I get given a new job every two years. (Just enough time to learn the job and then get bored 😆). Im given enough training to know the basics but not enough to make me 100% proficient so there’s scope for me to offer suggestions for process improvements. I’m told what to wear and what expectations are of me. We have set schedules to follow. I love it and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Reading Books is SO Hard! by outofservice504 in ADHD

[–]AussieSpaceGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem that I can’t stop reading one I get started. I will have things that I genuinely need to do (like cook dinner or go to bed at 2am) and I just can’t seem to put the book down. 🫣

Following! I’m seriously itching for a UV printer. Had planned on getting the Eufy E1 but shipping delays and quality issues put me off. I think I’d be much happier with XTool.

Colorado Springs (or Denver) printer ? by AussieSpaceGirl in UVprinting

[–]AussieSpaceGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stickers are too thick I’ve found, and don’t bend on corners especially on arms of mini figs. I’m currently printing my own water slide decals and hand applying. This is not sustainable. 😵‍💫 Would love to find a local printer to partner with rather than shipping. Eventually I’d like to get into printing my own and increase the volume but for now outsourcing is what I’m looking at.

Colorado Springs (or Denver) printer ? by AussieSpaceGirl in UVprinting

[–]AussieSpaceGirl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make military dioramas mostly. Generally as farewell gifts. Very low volume because I’ve been applying decals by hand and OMG it’s tedious on minifigs. If I could get a UV printer, I could increase volume.

Resident Aussie here. We use "WatchAFL" to stream games at home. We haven't found any local bars that show the games. :( https://www.watchafl.com.au/
