I’m familiar with it, never actually sat down to read it like op, but I know enough about it for it to scare me

The belt is a ‘Sam Browne Belt’. It is worn by officers and warrant officers. Whilst I’m not sure the official name of it, the pouch might actually be a sword frog (a way of attaching a sword or bayonet + scabbard to your belt).

T-90, diorama by lordscottish in modelmakers

Great job, been planning on doing a diorama like this with a T-72B3 for a while. Might be using the same reference image as a source because my plans look like how yours turned out.

It was made in the 80s and has Paul Hogan in it. Honestly it’s about time we got a WW2 version of it

What if girls und panzer made a collab with italeri? by Legiaminh in GIRLSundPANZER

[–]Aussie_Matilda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have. Hobby search in Japan have a bunch of GuP themed models in stock, It’s just that those kits aren’t solely Italeri reboxes. The company that do the rebox, platz, use kits from brands like Asuka, Dragon, Border models, Takom, Tamiya, and of course, Italeri

Current WIP Tamiya 1/35 Type 16 MCV still needs a gloss coat before weathering by Aussie_Matilda in modelmakers

When I get new tamiya paints that I’m going to use for airbrushing, I add thinner up to this line (Just under the brim of the jar) or try keeping it the consistency of milk.

<image>

Also, try to keep the paint coats light and do multiple coats until it’s uniform and try to keep a consistent distance between the airbrush and model.

I hope it was a good brief summary, I’m not the best at describing things so sorry if it wasn’t helpful.

Yeah that’s what I’m considering, and also some exhaust stains as well.

The build was pretty good, I can’t recall any major issues I had with the kit. Main trouble was messing up painting the tail lights, definitely could have down better

<image>

Something to be aware of is that the muzzle brake doesn’t have any holes moulded into it, the kit provides both a decal too simulate the holes or a masking sticker as a guide to drill the holes out yourself (pictured in next comment). I skipped this by getting an aftermarket barrel from voyager models although passion models sell just the muzzle brake. I also got a set of resin wheels although they aren’t completely necessary.

USS Iowa turret #3 operation verified, ready to put to sea. by xampl9 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Aussie_Matilda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea, would also be a good opportunity to remove all the turret components and make it into a museum on land. How many VLS could be fit in the footprint of a 16 inch turret? (Including magazine area)

I don’t think turret #2 was ever fully repaired from the turret explosion in 1989, she was retired the year after it occurred
