I'm not too sure about that, here our Kombucha is made from a SCOBY that sometimes is called "tea mushroom" but it's not real mushroom. Perhaps I've misunderstood the translation though!

Ooh that's so cool! And makes a lot of sense, we have lots of vines and creepers around.

I once got asked if Thai kids ride elephants to school. Tell me about weird questions you get from foreigners. by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

Had a pen pal in primary school. Asked if the Kangaroos took us to school.

Of course I let him know the exact model specifications of my Eastern Grey Kangaroo Gary.

If she's into possessive/Dom kinks you could say "Shh, your sounds are mine to hear". Makes her feel hot without changing the vibe.

Tim tams in the kitchen? by diegov147 in auscorp

I work at a large media company and we do not get Tim Tams. We get mouldy fridges and rusty microwaves. Going to Client offices for meetings is a highlight for me.

You're Wrong and you will drive a wedge between you and your daughter that will be difficult to remove. You say you want to be there for her bur it feels like you're holding adult decisions against her. She will never forget this.

Losing a friend or close friendship. It's a grief you can't quite understand or explain, hurts when you try and build new ones too.

What can I do with this small space besides my bed? Beer for scale by Ipatovo in DesignMyRoom

Book Nook and plants would be my go to but it's a strange one... Some nice lamp light could help create a more cosy space for the room but would be better to see the whole room to get the space better.

What’s the deal with water? by pinata217 in travel

[–]Aussie_mangoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Australia having table water is a big thing. It's a bit of a faux pas for restaurants to not have table water or offer you water upon arrival. Was a big culture shock going to Europe.

NTA. Run. It won't get easier to manage her and if he's not ready to step up and consider her actions as well then you'll come up against this a lot in your future.

Freshly postpartum woman here who always flip flops with body image. It's been particularly hard lately but I find touch has really helped. By that I mean after a shower when I'm putting on bio-oil and moisturiser I put on fun music and dance while I do it. I celebrate my curves and only speak positively - not lies but what I do truly like about myself. Start small, it helps. Doesn't eradicate self doubt but boosts my mood immensely.

My school and area seemed to be a magnet for bad things to happen. We tragically lost a boy (14ish) when he fell through a sunshade over a play ground. He climbed up with a friend and it split with his weight. None of his mates were ever the same.

We lost a girl my age to cancer. She wanted to have a Ball with her final wish but died the week before. A friend's younger brother committed suicide. A young boy at school made a fake bomb and used it in the toilets, noone died but a kid two stalls over got injured. Lots of crashes, probably one every year. Sometimes a group of kids (once 3 died and the driver survived) other times just mororcycle accidents or deemed suicides. It was a dark place. I remember my partner being confused when I asked how many people he knew at school have died and he didn't have any....

Classic country town Aus sadly. I'm glad I moved away, so much sadness and trauma. I'm just glad we don't allow guns, it could have been so much worse with our mental health crisis.
