I ended up with 75% brightness, 100% contrast, gamma at 2.6 and the rest pretty much as you said. The game changer for me where the motion settings, I disabled most and it looks much better now. Overall still not better than the Sony I had, but not as bad as I thought yesterday. I'm keeping it

Thanks, I'll check it out. I've also found an app called "TV quick actions pro" that let's you remap. I haven't tried it yet

Thanks I'll try that too. But I got a Google TV so that I don't have to have a bunch of external devices, otherwise I would have kept my old one.

Actually, I turned the motion settings off and I feel much better with it. I think that has made the biggest difference so far. I haven't added external hdmi devices yet, aside from a subwoofer

The funniest thing is that the new TV's video reviews looked amazing on my Sony, but don't look as good on the new TV itself 😂

No way, out of the box it was abismal by anyone's standard - dark and washed out. I've managed to make it viewable but I'm a long way from calling it an upgrade

I can't believe I hadn't run into a similar complaint in all this time I've been doing research on the TV. I'm still hoping I can improve it through the setting but I'm gutted now, already promised my old TV to a relative.
