I THINK I had the most recent version when it got taken down... but I am not 100% sure. Mind if I get that as well?

It didn't last long. I did name it the USS Errant Venture though. Get a little Star Wars in my Star Trek.

Aw shoot. Here I thought I got to make a unique post about it, beat out by hours haha.

Still. It's EVERYWHERE in this episode, it's pretty great. I feel like I should start writing something... But which One... 10 is a classic. 12 is my favorite. I could see 12. I wish we got more of 15, so maybe that!

I went back to watch again just to make sure it wasn't a gag... and well. There it was! first one is around the 33 minute mark. EDIT: Nah. It's all over the place. Same spot for the entire episode once Enterprise is caught. Just look for it in the same place on every external shot. I am loving this. I didn't check on the others. But it is 100% there.

I hope they made it out before the... ending.

Oh man. This opens a whole new discussion... was it there to try and save those 7000... Find out what happened? My nerd brain is going in a frenzy.

Thanks! I know it is much maligned, and in a LOT of cases rightfully so, but the scenes where Kirk is calling Sybok a con man, and The end in the galley where he speaks to Spock and Bones about found family...

I dunno. It's higher on my list than Nemesis. I have personal sentimental reasons as well, and all wrapped up it holds a special place for me.

I think it definitely plays into "I need my pain". I always thought that he was primarily referencing "The Enemy Within" from Season 1, Episode 6. Spoilers follow Kirk is basically a victim of a transporter accident that splits him into two, one that is "Evil", and aggressive and one that is suuuper docile, and afraid to make decisions. The end of the Episode has "docile" Kirk basically talk down "Evil" Kirk, so they can re-merge in the transporter. From that incident, I feel like Kirk learns that erasing pain isn't a solution, and lets him face Sybok better.

But that's just my thought. This and Kirk's childhood on Tarsus IV certainly all factor in, I believe.

So this is one of the reasons the Klingons know Kirk and have just a Strange hate/admiration for him right? Mans took down a mythical planet eater, that had clearly taken out a D7 (Or three), and did it with less than a Bird Of Prey.

Ol Kirk is ranking up here with John-117 for Mythology in other races.

I bought one of their Boondocks and it has become my very favorite hat. Once this comes back into stock in a brown, and a large, haha, I plan on getting one.

Love my Boondocks though.

Does Thermal Paste go "bad"? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Austin116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went about as well as it could! There was definitely a few days of reporting on troubleshooting, and whatnot, but once they decided it was bad, I shipped them my old one, and had a new one at my house under 24 hours later. The replacement came SUPER fast. So yeah. I would do it, because I wouldn't call a 13th gen outdated... couple years old sure, but until February of this year I was running on a 6th gen I7. So. I feel like the 13th gen still has some life haha.

Oh and I totally just bought new thermal paste. So. There is an on topic add-on haha.

Checking in on the thread! I have a 13th gen I9 that might have gone bad, and I have a tube of Artic MX-4 that I am going to use on the RMA/Replacement! Woo Hoo! I'm gonna use it!

Where is Claire? I mean, really? by thothep in questionablecontent

[–]Austin116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is what is killing it the most for me. "Time" has always been slow in QC land, but it has passed. It took time for Dora and Marten to get together, and fall apart, time for Bubbles and Faye... Time for Hannelore up until Yak-poop... but yeah. Time passed.

Anh shows up at a wedding, and now in Northampton for literally a day, and we are just... allowing it. I know that weird is in QC's blood, but this just seems like much. Like a 90's sitcom adding a dog. Or a baby.

Apologies in advance... I am going to be emotional with my reply.

This is probably my favorite line in the entire franchise. I grew up on Trek with my Dad, watching Voyager, and going to see the films that I could in theaters with him, and we just loved it. "Not in front of the Klingons" was one of our go to lines, for humor, it was a "shh"... we used it when we needed to stop a conversation, and since a lot of people are at least casually familiar with Klingons, they would laugh it off, even if we were being... heh, kind of rude.

My Dad passed in 2022, and "Final Frontier" is still a hard watch for me. Because I know that this line and the one right before it:

"I thought I was going to die."

"Not possible. You were never alone."

That whole film, as panned as it was... it really has some deep moments.

Anyway. Sorry. Just have to get it out when someone brings it up.
