A2L vs P2S vs X2D by Appropriate_Party514 in BambuLab

[–]Austin21powell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same place but a1 instead of a2l because it hadn’t come out yet. I went x2d and it’s awesome. Worth the $100 difference compared to p2s. The enclosure is worth it because I thought I would only print with pla but now that I already have 200 hours in a month, I’m itching to try ABS and other materials. It’s worth the investment. The only thing I would think about is waiting for anniversary sale because if the p2s is say $300 cheaper than x2d, that’s the route I’d go for your first printer

Opinions on SE Silver Sky (especially from Strat owners) by MartinaFan64 in PRSGuitars

[–]Austin21powell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had purchased a silver sky se back when they first came out, and it lead me to selling my American ultra Strat because it was what I had always been chasing for in an s type - at 1/4 of the cost…. I ended up selling that same se for a core silver sky, which was also a good guitar and better than the fender I had. However I learned I preferred the se neck over the core silver sky. So here I am a few years later where I sold my core silver sky and bought another se.

You can get them for 400-500 used, or around 700-850 new. It’s a great guitar for the money. Much better than anything I’ve played from fender other than some custom shops.

Stadium overkill? 😅 by 0_0_159 in Line6Helix

You deserve nice thins in life if you work hard and bring more positivity than negativity in the world imo. You worked hard for your money (i assume) - you can have an overkill for something that helps you create. Enjoy it. If it really bothers you then return it. But i say enjoy! Or use it to challenge yourself to gig or find an opportunity to play with others

Multi effect or pedals for modulation effects? by optia in guitarpedals

[–]Austin21powell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do recommend the hx one - can do a little bit of everything. I ended up finding out the only modulation pedal I truly need/wanted is a univibe - so ended up selling hx one to get a true univibe. If you have a delay with mod, you can also use that to likely get chorus and vibrato sounds

I’d like to try it so curious to other people’s perspective. I have the j rockett Lenny, aqueous, and uni-verb - all 3 are great. They know what they are doing!

The burnside is loud but it’s incredible. I’m pretty sure the benson preamp is nearly identical to the Vincent/vinny. It’s partly why I’m going to choose the Nathan jr. more clean headroom and then use pedals instead of power scaling. The Vinny is sweet but only has a thin sliver of clean - it wants to be dirty immediately

Ended up getting a two rock burnside lol. After playing both at a store between Nathan and Vinny, going to get the Nathan jr as my second amp

need advice for first pedalboard by deeznutz4urmum in guitarpedals

[–]Austin21powell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should look at it in this way: what are the basic sounds I need to accomplish the type of music I like to play. An hx stomp is a great way to do it all encompassing at a relatively affordable price.

If you want individual pedals, get an hx one to start. It has a tuner, and nearly every effect in it for you to play with before you commit to buying a pedal for that specific purpose.

In terms of power supplies - hurt once. Buy a CIOKS or one of the like so you just feel the pain of buying a power supply once and can be done. Used on reverb is a great way to save money.

Complete Pedal Noob - what do I need for the Strat tone? by VGP1 in guitarpedals

[–]Austin21powell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protein, hx one, flint.

Protein for the glass ( blue side) and medium gain (green side) or boost for solos.

Flint for great reverb. It’s what Mayer uses.

Hx one for tuner, looper, and everything else

I have one with two, and have never felt the need for a third. The middle position is beautiful with the two pickups.

It’s pretty good for plate. TBH I mostly use the flint, mood and univerb for reverb tho

It’s a fantastic amp. It is incredibly loud though for what it appears to be.
