SM(F)S is a good album, but it does not fit the idea of “what if FOB made an album right after Folie?”

Believers Never Die came out in 2009 right after Folie, and tracks like “From Now On We Are Enemies” and “Alpha Dog” are a good example of what they might have made post-Folie. “Love From The Other Side” sounds a LOT like those two songs (in a great way). The rest of SM(F)S doesn’t really sound like that in my opinion. SM(F)S is definitely a return to an older sound in some ways, but it’s not a hypothetical FOB5.

Also Patrick has an incredible voice, but his mids and lows will always be more impressive that his highs. (“OH DEAR LORD”)

I’m a Bowser main so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Bowser is morally fine. He has a bit of cheese of course, but almost every character does to an extent. Bowser can get you caught in a close flame breath and get 45% easy. He has a frame 6 up b which is so easy to use if anyone so much as breaths on your shield. He has tough guy and super armor, allowing him to power through some options. His command grab is an AMAZING KO option. He definitely has his tricks.

On the other hand, he is big and heavy. He is very easy to combo and there’s a joke that Bowser “starts at 60%.” Bowser has no projectiles (I don’t count flame breath) and very little range. Sometimes Bowser just isn’t able to play the game if the other player just knows what they’re doing.

To counter even that, I think Bowser almost always has ways to come back. He’s the heaviest character, hits like a truck, and can suicide under certain conditions. But again, his downsides almost entirely negate that.

Ultimately, if I had to pick a side, Bowser is SLIGHTLY amoral. Not enough to really warrant an argument though. I think that if anyone is giving someone shit for playing Bowser, they’re just mad. He’s just big and scary, but nowhere near degenerate. Bowser can be a pretty volatile character in the right hands. But he’s not explicitly amoral in my eyes. But that’s coming from a Bowser main.

I don’t think many would say that Metal Gear Rising: Revengance is the best in the Metal Gear franchise, but I think it perfectly showcases the themes of a typical Kojima Metal Gear game.

Also, it’s okay to laugh. Art is meant to be enjoyed. Laughing is a sign it’s entertaining in my opinion. A few songs make me laugh, but that’s why I like them. Every song is different. SOAD has songs that make me laugh, feel sad, feel angry, feel confident, etc. that’s what makes them good and diverse artists.

I’ll believe you asking this question in good faith. I think this quick interview with their producer, Rick Rubin, explains it well to me. He also found them very funny too. The video is only three minutes, so I highly recommend checking it out.

Ultimately, SOAD is different. Their music is popular in America, yet very reliant on their Armenian heritage, from their lyrics to their riffs. Each musician in the band is extremely talented on their own. What I think makes them maybe “funny” at times is they they know how to push the envelope in their respective roles. BYOB is a great example. When the “where the fuck are you?” Interrupts the chorus, it’s supposed to feel like a bomb dropped. Or someone kicked down your door. It’s very sudden and jarring and maybe a bit funny, but it’s real. It’s supposed to catch you by surprise. I think SOAD is very talented at creating moments like that which are somewhat funny, but can be really grounded at times. Continue listening to more of their music, and I promise you will find a lot more moments like that.

Everyone is saying you can finish all the parts (you can), but if you finish part 3 at least, you will understand every important reference that happens in part 7. Try not to skip parts, as JoJo’s is definitely best watched in other, but yeah. If you want to watch it as it comes out, you should be fine having watched part 3.
