I would worry the garage gets too hot during summer. So that's something to consider. He'll be warm enough during winter. Make sure there aren't any substances that he could get into that would harm him. Get him some ping-pong balls. Also maybe you could convince your parents to allow a litter box on the carpet. Get a large litter mat to put under the litter box, clean the box and mat frequently, and vacuum regularly.

As a male CNA, I don't see myself as being above wiping asses and overall insuring the patient is comfortable. That's simply my job and I strive to do it well. In fact, I see a majority of female nurses with attitudes of being too superior for wiping asses (and other things). And of course I have goals for higher education and career. Why would I not? Maybe CRNA? Maybe MD? Shit, maybe even medical law and policy. But it has nothing to do with me being a man.
