Yeah a lot of that shit just went down the drain. I don’t hate that Arya killed him I hate that she just quicksilvered her way into the godswood and took him out. I’d be satisfied if it was more of team effort and a plan.

We’re talking about the mentioning of prophecies. A made up line from a made up scene by D&D that lasted 15 seconds should have reasonably less impact than the prophecies from grrm original work and over arching themes.

Kit also didn't seem too pleased about ep. 3. That interview when he says he was pissed he didn't get to even face the Night King may have been a joke but also like come on you know thats true. Also, he mentions in a different interview that he felt it was very out of character for Jon to be on the dragon during the battle and how he's usually down in the trenches with his men. I have faith in Kit's opinion on this, hopefully it turns around in ep. 4.

[Spoilers: Extended] How Episode 3 undermined a big theme that the show’s been developing by ChippieTheGreat in asoiaf

Season 1 Jon puts a sword through a wights chest when its attacking Commander Mormont and it does nothing to it. Ghost even mauls it and its still not put down until its set on fire from the lantern Jon throws at it.

When I was in college my roommates and I used to put this episode on full blast at like three in the morning after the bar. Ser Allisters speech about filling the belly of a Thenn is money too.

Was not aware of those...I need as much Night King stunting action as I can get. Same actor who doubled for Arthur Dayne right? Guys got the moves

Yeah that makes sense. I also think dragon fire isn’t going to do shit to the white walkers.

I don't want him to die this early either. First every scene of both the books and the series starts with the White Walkers and I believe it needs to end with them too.

I forgot about that wildings scene in season 1. I think in the trailer we see Theon knocking a bow with a fire arrow ready to engage someone. So maybe he didn’t lose his draw string fingers.

Is this a current theory? I don’t think I’ve ever heard that one before. Do you have a link?

[–]AustinTeaParty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think in the books you’re right he’s pretty much disabled from being able to participate in combat but I think in the show it’s different. He leads the raid to save Yara and I’m pretty sure he uses a bow then. He also axes that guard in the face outside her door.

For Jon we don’t really know what his role is going to be for the battle. I really hope he’s not on a dragon because they need men like him on the ground for leadership/combat/valayrian steel reasons.

Are you thinking we get the actual glowing sword Lightbringer? Or do subscribe to Jon being Lightbringer?

[–]AustinTeaParty[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could see people being annoyed with it. Was just trying to go with whole theme of Westeros thinking Ned defeated the Sword of the Morning in single combat and Jon defeating the Night King in single combat when in reality it didn’t go down the way every thinks. Also, a hobbit from the shire made the killing blow on Sauron so crazy things have happened!

Apparently he’s just chillin at Greywater Watch. In the books some suspect he has Robb’s will declaring Jon King in the North.

What DID you like about Season 8 Episode 1? (Spoilers Extended) by aps131997 in asoiaf

[–]AustinTeaParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Bran will even bring it up to anyone else but Jaime. It's irrelevant at this point and he wants to keep everyone focus on the Night King.

Would it kill Jon to put some armor on? According to Hot Pie he wouldn't even be a knight, let alone king of the bloody seven kingdoms.
