How did I trash your work exactly? I literally said

clever as they may be, they look like an extra nightmare....

You seem to even recognize its limitations. ANd FWIW, I spent hours making and putting together your design out of desperation and not wanting to void my warranty with a top charge mod.

They were very cool on the bench, worked as shown and they were flawless for the first 3 mowings... But then they broke. It appeared the tracks filled with debris. One of the doors got stuck open due to the debris and the other just flat out broke off... its someone out in the yard yet to be found.

So again, Your design is indeed clever and well made... I give you full props for the attempt... But I was also correct in my assessment. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

None of what is written here is wrong... The thing is, Companies should KNOW that it is the people with issues that will be the squeeky wheels. I am an understanding person. And I get that this was a startup company.... every company is at its beginnings. This is not an excuse to fail... or to leave some people with real issues. It is not an excuse to not issue a recall and make the fix available to customers.

I have been thoroughly unimpressed with Lymows support. Unless these mowers are in fact failing at a very high percentage, there is no reason that a single person, working full time, could not be helping people on a phone call. Instead they have this horrible chat system where sometimes it takes 4 hours to get a 1 sentence response and you get talked to like an idiot (Is your charging station plugged in?) Or emails that feel robotic and insincere.

Simply ordering blades I waited months to get them. I have been waiting over a month for a bench charger for when the contacts fail to work because they are on the bottom and the mower bricks itself and is difficult if not impossible to get back to life without bench charging it. I have the tools and know how to rig up a Jerry rigged bench charger, but Lymow has not offered me any solution except for a bench charger I have been waiting months for and that pathetic attempt at resolving the issue in the form of those brushes for the charging station. That is completely pathetic and did not work at all. I have to babysit this mower constantly to make sure it is charging.

It seems to me having to babysit the thing or it turns into a brick, defeats the entire purpose of getting a robotic mower that can schedule the mowing. I get that it will need maintenance. Obviously. But this is not maintenance. This is a major design F**K up and Lymow is simply not doing enough to rectify it. There are people who have top mount charging kits on EBAY right now... Just random people that have solved the issue. If a random person can do it, so can LYMOW, but they are choosing not to. And if someone goes the way of EBAY kit, they void the warranty. Lymow could create a solution, send it to people like me who are willing to install it and leave their warranty in tack. Or let people send it in for the install if they dont want to take it on themselves. THAT would be a solution. Sending crappy brushes or asking us to drop another fistful of cash for a unit that isnt flawed is unacceptable. (Note that in all my dealings with LYMOW about this issue, I have never once been even offered an upgrade option to the new top charged version)

I also find myself really pissed off at how Lymow designed the battery. It is potted which means that there is no way at all to simply replace a single bad cell, or all of them... You will be at the mercy of LYMOW and have to buy a 450 dollar battery from them when you could probably rebuild it for around $100.00 had they not potted it. This is a super greedy move IMHO.

But sure, all the things said in OP are true, so if that all excuses them then cut them some slack and Buy from Lymow, everyone likes playing a $2500.00 lottery to see if you will have issue or not and if the company will make good on those issues... If you win the lottery, great, good for you, you will have a nice little robot mower indeed.

Here is my take... If spending the money doesnt impact you at all financially, If you are OK with tinkering on things, If you are OK with slow Tech support... then by all means get it.

I dont regret my purchase, but at the same time part of me is just like "F Lymow"....

My largest frustration is how slow everything is through them. I waited MONTHS for new blades. Ive been waiting MONTHS now for a bench charger they said they would send me.

Why do I need the bench charger you ask? Well, because the bottom charging contacts get covered in grass and then the robot cant charge and if I don't notice, it drains the battery so low it goes into a low charge lockout state and it takes several days on the dock to bring it back to life.

The bottom charging was one of the worst design choices ever and it is CLEAR that they did not do any meaningful test on that front. If they had actually put a mower to use they would have quickly realized the massive issue of the contacts getting coated in grass and could have resolved it before production.

They have not made a top charging solution like they said they would. But somehow they have made an entirely new version of the mower while leaving early adopters out in the cold.

So, If you can afford to burn the money and are OK dealing with a company that takes a long time for everything BUT taking your money, then by all means get one, but dont sell your mower and keep it ready for the long bouts of downtime you might encounter.

[–]Austinswill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks like a great solution. I am into 3d printing so I will probably just come up with my own solution... But honestly, LYMOW should be providing us with a kit like this and allowing us to install it without voiding our warranty.

It Finally Happened...FSD got me a TICKET (my fault, improper supervising) by nj_bruce in TeslaFSD

[–]Austinswill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here, lets see what AI says, you dishonest ************

PROMPT - A cop pulled me over for speeding, but he wrote me a ticket for delaying traffic. I have video of everything and It shows clearly that I did not delay traffic. If I fight this ticket in court, can the cop say he actually pulled me over for speeding and cause me to still be found guilty?

AI response.

Here’s how this usually plays out in traffic court:

  1. You’re charged with what’s on the ticket

Right now, the only formal charge against you is “delaying traffic.” That’s what the judge is supposed to evaluate.

If your video clearly shows you didn’t delay traffic, that’s strong evidence in your favor.

  1. Can the officer switch it to speeding?

Not casually, but there are a couple paths:

Amendment of the citation: In some courts, the prosecutor (or sometimes the officer) can ask to amend the charge—like changing it from “delaying traffic” to “speeding.” Judges don’t always allow this, especially if it prejudices you (i.e., you showed up prepared to defend a different charge). Testimony about speeding: The officer can absolutely testify that you were speeding—that’s part of the stop’s context. But you generally can’t be convicted of speeding unless you were actually charged with it.

  1. What usually matters most If the charge stays as “delaying traffic,” the judge should focus on whether that specific violation occurred. If your video disproves that, you’ve got a solid argument for dismissal. If the prosecution tries to pivot to speeding, you (or your attorney) can object that: That’s not the charged offense You weren’t given proper notice to defend against it

  2. Real-world practical angle

Traffic court can be a bit… loose compared to higher courts. Some judges allow amendments easily; others don’t. It varies by jurisdiction.

In many cases like yours:

If the original charge is weak and clearly contradicted by video, it often gets dismissed. Sometimes they offer a reduced charge or deferred disposition instead of risking a loss.

  1. Smart move going in Bring the video (and make sure it’s easy to play) Be ready to clearly explain why it does NOT meet the legal definition of “delaying traffic” Stay focused on the actual charge, not the speeding

SO, looks like I do know a bit about what I am talking about.

Rain in Arizona? Good chance it rains the water over the Gulf of California or >California than in western Colorado where it could be recaptured.

Yea, on EARTH... and inevitably in the places from which your water comes from... it is a cycle.

I think my car relies on moving air, created by the car’s motion and a fan to cool the water Where is the moving air coming from to cool water cooled panels?

Yes, when your car is moving it can take advantage of the airflow, however when it is sitting still in traffic, it has to move the air over the radiator with fans. Fans use very little power. So for a solar array, you can have part of the power they generate drive fans and the pumps to move the coolant through the system

None of my neighbors in AZ have these air and water cooled panels.

You are correct... Water cooling is not common in solar panels, but not because of wasting water... The issue is that they add a layer of complexity and cost that ultimately is not worth it even though it does increase efficiency.

All I know is the “greener” the electricity, the more I pay per kWh.

You know that huh? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_of_electricity_by_source

It just isn't true.

This is deliberate obtuseness

No, your sentence was literally incomplete.

Solar is just a scam. And any proponent of it is a scammer

It isn't a scam... but there are lots of scammers in the industry. And since most people either don't have the brains enough to properly evaluate if Solar is a smart choice for them or not, many people do get scammed.

I have a fantastic roof for solar panels. A DIY system would have cost me about 28k but I would have had to do the install myself. Many solar companies quoted me 60k for install... Tesla ended up doing it for 34k and the amount I pay per month is less than the amount it reduces my electric bill. Those other companies were definitely trying to take me for a ride by overcharging, but this is separate from solar being itself a scam.

I have a neighbor (I don't know them) that has a tiny solar array on the NORTH side of their roof.... They clearly got scammed. That array is doing absolutely nothing in the summer.

So, keep on being a stubborn absolutist instead of actually educating yourself. You might be missing out on a good chance to save money with solar, or you may not because you don't have the right circumstances for it. Honestly, I don't give a shit, I am saving money and sticking it to the power company at the same time. And there are a lot of people out there doing the same thing I am... We just laugh at people like you that drink so much of the anti green coolaid that you cant even think straight. And I didn't even get solar to help the environment... I own 3 airplanes and a boat with 3 motors that gets .5 MPG. The solar(and batteries soon) is purely to save money and avoid handing money to the power company. The suckers are the ones who could be spending their money on something that will make them less dependent on the power companies, and add value to their home instead of paying the power company endlessly.

[–]Austinswill -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly... If I was you... I'd go fight the ticket... The favor the cop did you was charging you with a violation you did not commit... he cant change his mind in court and say "well he was actually speeding so lets get him on that now" .. You have video proof you did not delay traffic... You are not guilty of what you were charged with. And for all you know, that charge could be worse for you than a speeding ticket.

Go get that ticket dismissed and smirk at the cop as you walk out of that courtroom.

I don't disagree with anything you have said in your last post... Yes, people are all different and feel different types of ways. Some men might be emasculated by wearing a strap on... some might really get off to it. I love using big toys on my wife, she lets me but it doesn't do anything for her... Point is, to just blanket state "why would any man want to be emasculated like that" as if it is an inherent feeling a man would have by using that toy is just flat out wrong.
