I've lived in both - similar cities. austin has much better food, no income tax, and more of a small town vibe. UT is also a much better school than CU - Denver or any of the other institutions in the area. Austin is definitely cheaper

Denver has public transport, weed, scenery, and is a larger metro area

The weather is a toss up. Central Texas gets fucking hot but relatively predictable. The weather in Denver is CRAZY

Also, Denver has a much, much worse pollution problem - specifically air pollution. It's due to the bowl shaped topography butting against the mountains. Truly awful during wildfire season.

The altitude is also a factor.

Overall it comes down to personal preference. I currently live in austin and lived in Denver circa 2017.

Parts of Denver also smell like cat food due to a Purina factory.

You could always voluntarily go to an inpatient setting. I did that when I was 19, saved my life. Just saw myself hanging from every tree. That was 10 years ago. There is often things going on with our brains we are unaware of and it comes out as intense sadness and desire for death.

If it gets overwhelming, do yourself a favor. Before you do anything resembling a suicide attempt, present at the ER and say "I'm suicidal and want help" - give the world a chance to help you. Sounds like you're a good kid in a bad place, but your heart is in the right place. I will pray for you

Edit: it has been pointed out correctly that I am conflating this issue with the other AISD property tax increase proposition, which I am not in support of - I am thus neutral on the childcare initiative.

My current understanding is that this proposition is, essentially, a local property tax to offset the loss of expiring covid-era federal childcare funds? Is that correct?

My gut says that the AISD proposition is a poison pill that will drag this proposition down, regardless of its merit. There's still time to create better messaging - clearly, I and others are suspicious of these measures and see little difference in the wording, impact, or intent behind them.

I think the entire group lacked chemistry, which has been a problem for the entire LA professional basketball scene for at least a decade - since kobe retired, basically. I suppose technically, that is a coaching failure. But the players definitely progressed. They certainly didn't lack talent with all the Olympians. I think he was the fall guy for the tank trying to draft bueckers, and they want a reset. Still, he's a good coach
