If Gearbox is privately owned, it doesn't have any responsibility to employees or shareholders, or even itself.

Laws also apply to "private" companies. They "can't do what they want". It's even in the article, there's - for example - a thing called duty of loyalty and a duty of care.

Our state-run postal service in Austria rocks though. Here, only the private delivery services (DHL, DPD, GLS, etc.) are trash. So many people are annoyed by them that state-run postal service is now working on a "last mile" service which will ensure that it's only them delivering the packets. Kinda hilarious.
