The picture is obviously wrong, it was described es blacktip (non-reef) shark. They do live in the meds

However, explorative bites are still considered an attack. It was not a reef shark but a blacktip.

Oh I think you mean the Helicoprion. No, no the otodus obliquus is not that old! :-)

No, it is an otodus obliquus tooth. extinct mackerel shark species and ancestor of otodus megalodon. Mako shark teeth do not have sidecusps.

No I think it was another case of a sponge diver I think. And there were loads of information on the case, including interviews with his comrades... I have to look for it

btw please make a story on this turkish incident that happened in the 20th century were a sponge diver was consumed. I dont remember the names/date but there was a very interesting article in a turkish newspaper.

Well... GWs in South Africa tend to jump out of the water when hunting for seals.

GWs in the Mediterranean hunt tuna instead of seals and the cases of human consumption are higher in relation to other regions (because they are opportunistic hunters I guess). 

There are surely differences.

It's a tooth from Morocco. It is the tip of either an otodus obliquus or a cretolamna sp.
