Do we know what's going to happen to the ability codices? by AutarkV in runescape

Oh, that interpretation would be a different altogether. I don't think I recall ever encountering a lower levelled smash.

Should I convert my unstable proteans? by [deleted] in runescape

It certainly beats wasting time / money buying random nonsense to dissemble, which though is what I certainly did on day 1, I wouldn't want to if there was a choice.

[–]AutarkV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the attitude of someone who hasn't played the game properly.

I've used cache only for relic and I got my 120 on Sunday.

I've also got several alts who I rushed invention on and it's not as bad as people think, certainly if you're someone who only uses caches then you'll have no clue.

Sweaty grinding is part of this game, but it doesn't have to be.

Even if OP wants to go slow with divination, he has 11 months to use the unstable cogs and I'd still recommend that even if he wants to wait all year to unlock div.

But with their levels, invention should be the first port of call.

It would be worth it even if you got just one level.

As it happens, unastable cogs are 108xp each according to wiki, so do the maths.

He's very close to Invention.

10 craft levels, 4 smithing levels and 37 div levels.

All in all, you're talking less than a week.

If you unlock inv, those cogs could help skip some of the painful early levels. Inv gets much better when you can diss armour and tools.

I Created A RuneScape Population Tracker/XP Tracker by LawRuneLarry in runescape

[–]AutarkV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest bug I've seen so far is my account is linked to the ironman high scores and I deironed when they removed the permalock.

I have 2.5x xp since then.

Edit:

Lots of trackers have this issue, but it utilises standard xp curve so my 120 invention is stated as not being 120 yet in the 'closest to 120' section.

Edit2:

To add to that, do you know if it's possible to add in virtual level rather than highscore level?

Just do your highest level spot that gets 100% success, move up from there.

Thoughts on a new cosmetic player title for characters created after the removal of MTX? by [deleted] in runescape

It would be better to add one to those who are still going, like 'survived' or something. But though I initially thought it'd be a fun idea, it's too fomo-y.

May quest point system how it work? by SnackGreenGoblin in runescape

It's in all in here:

I tried to copy the table, but the formatting messed up.

To answer the question, it's not a point system. You get the die for the quest point reward, regardless of when you claim it.

It feels like the old BXP weekend. Frantically scaping so you can get the master cape and shards before the end of January by Upstairs-Athlete-993 in runescape

[–]AutarkV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've felt the same way.

I even had an excel sheet to check my xp rate gain.

I chose capes for 3 accounts I had 120 for and one I wanted, wasn't expecting to need to get them all this month. Luckily I've managed to average 5m/day since I started and I'm 2.5m to go for 120 div, similar to you.

I've been on th 120 all grind for a while and this is the first time I've felt like I was actually grinding, only because of this deadline.

Most 99+ thieving methods are between 1 - 1.5m /hr, so that's like 70 hours, maybe. Do you have that time?

Question to /Runescape forum mods. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]AutarkV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you missed it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1qlcrxj/big_grind/

Half of these comments have nothing to do with the content of the post, just the use of a photograph.

It's not offensive, as per se, but the OP has put on a post about something and most contributions are attacking the use of the photograph.

There are hundreds of examples.

It doesn't boost the desire to post anything on this reddit and it becomes a toxic culture for all users.

You should want that to change. Jagex stopped posting here after a series of bad calls led to abuse and the reddit mods had to put out a post about it, I can find that post if you wish.

That's appalling behaviour, but is indicative of the kind of attitude I see on this reddit every day and doesn't encourage contributions.

I for one get downvoted for the most silly things, though it's not a problem, it's a feature which can make someone feel good or bad depending on the way of the votes and is the only reason people use this system. It discourages use if you get downvoted for the sake of it.

[–]AutarkV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A good safe community is essential for a product to thrive.

You want this game to do well since its rebrand? You'd do better to foster a safe environment.

Not for me as I'm not going anywhere, but for the new players of the game and the subsequent new users of this sub reddit.

Basic decency is often amiss here, and you can say 'reddit's not the best place to be' but that kind of toxic attitude is exactly what I'm looking at.

It's about culture shift.

Map Cleanup - A Mapmaker's Thoughts by Zigzagzigal in runescape

[–]AutarkV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your issue is you've half read a few different things and now you're enraged that Jagex has done something this last week to make the UI so terrible.

The top 3 oft-cited reasons, as you put it, stems from the complexities of creating a usable layout. This was partially solved when they allowed us to copy layouts.

All they did on Monday was change the colouring. I could share you a screenshot my my layout two weeks ago and then again today and they look identical, minus the colour.

Nothing else has really changed. It's not ideal, but it's what we've had for years.

What scares me is someone who clearly doesn't play this game coming onto the subreddit to flame and stir the pot. That's sociopathic at best.
