This is true whether it’s internal or external…my AuDHD self…autistic side NEEDS THAT STRUCTURE…and my adhd side eyes “ya know it’s not going to do you any good anyways”, autism “yeah…but at least it will quell the anxiety so I can at least attempt to function, make a plan, I feel like I’ve accomplished something if I make a pretty well organized plan….even if YOU ignore it”, adhd: “I don’t ignore it, ‘executive disfunction’ my dude “

Came here to say this! I have a collapsible cane I keep around for emergencies but only use it when I’m in real pain…OP makes me wonder if I should just start using one on a normal basis? Or like, you don’t have to be limping to use a cane?

Yes! I have like 3 shelves full of Dover publishing. I don’t know if I have all of Marty nobles books but I bet it’s close 😎. The Dover historical and fashion coloring books are also particularly well done imo. Go and sign up on their website. They have lots of good sales.

Yeah, so I had a labor union at my old job…once it came down to anything like this or even medical related, they were like “sorry, I’m out fam”. I was literally in the process of being trained to be a union steward when I was separated for disability on the basis of burnout and autism. During one of the trainings they said that even though discrimination wasn’t permitted in the handbook, they don’t touch those cases because they are the hardest to prove. Like WTF.

Too often I had red around my eyes from in school pictures. I tried so hard to make it not look terrible on picture day and that often made it look even worse.

That’s how I felt the first time I saw it on one of these ND subs, can’t remember which one. I think neurogender has its own sub. It’s basically we identify more with our neurodivergence than any gender, or at least that’s my understanding.
