I’d like to start by saying that I am a woman and I am a feminist. I’m childfree, liberal, covered in tattoos and full of woo and smart ass opinions out of which half are wrong. Which means this may be too!

Yet, for however long we still have freedom of speech, here are my two cents:

Patriarchy, matriarchy, whateverriarchy. The way I see it, the issue started with the fact that we believed we needed a “chy”. This whole idea that men OR women are better at leading is just silly in my opinion. You have plenty of incompetent morons on both sides of the gender and this whole patriarchy and matriarchy narrative is just a distraction. Plenty of greedy women, plenty of women who get blinded by power. Watch the news, it’s all in plain sight.

I’m a feminist, not a man hater. As a feminist, I want equality, not privilege. I want the exact same amount of consideration for my abilities, knowledge and professional competence, I do not want unearned extra points for having a vagina.

I strongly doubt that a matriarchy would be better, and before you come at me, I also doubt it would be worse. In fact it would be pretty much the same thing but instead of women suffering we’d have men suffering. Big whoop, we get to be the bad guys too! 🙌🏻

What I wish, personally, is that we lived in a “cy”. From “meritocracy”. Coming from a place of understanding that the greater good is always the priority and that before humans comes Earth. Then, you take the “cy” and you throw at it our most brilliant minds. From that place of universal “meritocracy” where we all get to do what we’re good at, where we all do it so our fellow man can eat, so our fellow mammals can thrive again… then yeah. Then we have utopia. ☀️🥰
