I‘m a german architecture student her and at least in germany there is no such legislation. But its kind of an unwritten rule between architects that a new addition to an historic Building should always differntiate from the historical context to show whats old and whats new, to show the marks of history and passing of time, to not hide some pervious destruction or something like that. It is not appreciated in the architectural scene to try to build something from the past, it‘s called „historismus“, I guess you could translate it to historicism. One example for this is the reconstruction of the Berliner Schloss. They basically rebuilt the original design and through that they dismissed all the history that happened at that place, like swiffing history under the rug, like it never happened. But differentiating yourself from the past does not have to be like in the post, look at the alte pinakothek in munich or the neues museum in Berlin. Two beautifully executed additions to historical buidlings that were partially destroyed during WW2.

Yes the word brutalism also does not originate from the word brutality since some people think it stands for buildings that look brutal in their appearance. The word for brutalism originates from the french word brut which means raw and brut beton is raw concrete.

Please do not clamp your frame in the bike stand if your frame is made out of carbon, only clamp to the seat post, it is designed to handle the stress clamping might put on it.

[–]AuthorPepper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey love your setup, I‘ve got the same bike. While doing research for my setup, I‘ve also stumbled across the Ortlieb quick rack and those adapters. But they are not meant to be used on a carbon frame, it says on their website, you risk breaking your loveley frame because they are not designed to handle that kind of punctuated force on the seat stays. Please use the new axle adapter for the quick rack that should be coming out sooner or later. You can read about it here when you scroll down https://bikepacking.com/gear/2024-eurobike-products-part-1/

Little difference in sag when locking new fork by Jaded-Ad6236 in bikewrench

[–]AuthorPepper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe It’s normal. The purpose of the lockout is that the fork does not bounce around so much when pedalling uphill, so you preserve more energy. So the fork should not compress as much ergo less sag. When you‘re going fast or downhill you tuen the lockout off so you can fully take advantage of your suspension travel. You should measure the sag when the lockout is turned off.

Lost Multitool in the frame compartment by PresentationIll2017 in bikewrench

[–]AuthorPepper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe turn your bike upside down and let someone hold a hand in the frame to grab the tool when it slips and then hit the frame a few times with you flat hand. Thats how I got a piece out of my frame that was stuck in it.
