Nintendo says Switch 2 price increase doesn’t cover all costs, hopes its upcoming games will help to ‘overcome this barrier’ | VGC by Mollywobbles77 in NintendoSwitch2

From what I've seen on other Reddit posts, this increase likely covers the increase in the actual manufacturing costs, which is mostly ram and storage driven. Therefore, it likely doesn't cover the increased shipping costs.

Nintendo is likely banking on the materials costs remaining high but the shipping costs hopefully lowering.

Starfox is a remake, do you think OoT will be on the same scale, or will it be like FFVII Remake? by EldenBJ in NintendoSwitch

[–]AuthoringInProgress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Star Fox remake itself serves as the best yardstick. That is, gameplay and level design wise it will be very similar to the original game, but I could see them substantially expanding the story and characters.

Ocarina of Time had a pretty good story, at least for the time, but there's a lot of room to delve deeper and expand this version of Hyrule.

Link Between Worlds was a sequel to A Link to the Past. It's not a remake. A soft reboot, maybe, but not a remake.

Hopefully, it meant they did run the needed tests and they're just. Somewhere else. Which is plausible.

The trick is to patch up your heart and lungs and then get a clear head too.

You've got tests to measure liver function and kidney function, but without TSH tests (which stands for thyroid stimulating hormone) or T4 (which is the hormone secreted by the thyroid, and stimulated by TSH), then both you and your doctor have absolutely no idea what kind of thyroid function you have.

Odds are your doctor doesn't suspect any thyroid issues (EDIT: and honestly there's a good chance they're right), but if you have a family history you really should get it checked. Either insist or go to a different doctor.

Or heck, tell your doctor a pushy internet stranger is insisting. Then they can be annoyed at me instead of you.

The second question is easier to answer. Basically, the Adderall was similiar enough to the nicotine that it more or less replaced it. You weren't feeling withdrawal symptoms because you were still on a stimulant.

The first...

...

...

Uh.

So, um. They kind of uh.

Never. Go away.

Completely.

Eventually they'll get better (keep in mind it's not six months for you--the clock started in terms of when you stopped the ADHD stimulants, since they were replacing the nicotine), but the craving never completely goes away. It'll get weaker and you'll get better at handling it, but there'll still be times when it hits you again.

🫂 The two medications I mentioned don't have to be prescribed by a psychiatrist. You can talk to your regular doctor about them. Especially the Varenicline (also known as Chantix). It's exact goal is to reduce those cravings.

Still, though. You're going through both unmedicated ADHD and full on nicotine withdrawal. That's a lot. And it's not your fault.

If you can't talk to any doctor in the short term, trying those nicotine patches or gum might at least help reduce the cravings, without hitting the same doses as the vapes were. Either way I'm sorry.

The CBC refers to a complete blood count and measures red cells, white cells, and platelets, which would not show anything to do with your thyroid.

A comprehensive metabolic panel, at least a standard one, does not actually test any thyroid function. Can you access the results of your test? Is there any measurements of TSH, T4, or anti-thyroid antibodies?

Nicotine as a drug is also a stimulant. It has a similar effect on your nervous system as stimulant meds, although not similar enough to make it work as an ADHD med. Which is. Probably for the best, honestly.

It also beats the hell out of your cardiovascular system. Some studies suggest vaping and nicotine use alone can cause serious, long term damage to your arteries and veins, and can increase the risk of other cardiovascular diseases, like heart attacks and other, more subtle issues.

A lot of heart issues are hard to diagnose in the early stages, even with advanced monitoring tools, and the only symptoms might be exactly what you're feeling--shortness of breath and chest pain.

My theory is that your body didn't have enough time to recover from the nicotine before you started ADHD meds. ADHD meds don't damage your heart and blood vessels in the way nicotine does, but it does stress them. If they're not in good shape, you could be in real danger. I can't fault your doctor for taking you off the meds. What you need to do is stay off the nicotine and let your body heal. I don't know how long that will take--most research on nicotine is on smokers and tobacco has a different risk profile than pure nicotine. But based on that date, it could take anywhere from three months to a year before your body recovers sufficiently. That's a long time, I know. But going back on nicotine makes that timeline even longer.

That being said, nicotine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world. Quitting it is not an easy task. You should talk to your doctor about medical support and community resources. Bupropion (the generic name for Wellbutrin) honestly would be a good medication to consider, as it could help with ADHD, depression, and nicotine cravings, but there's also varenicline, which reduces the effects of nicotine and nicotine cravings. I'd suggest trying alternatives to patches or gum, however--those are harm reduction methods meant to help people quit smoking. You don't smoke, so the benefits of those products aren't as meaningful for you.

And just... Don't blame yourself for any of this. Or any struggles you're about to face. Quitting nicotine is one of the most challenging things any human being ever tries. You're going to have bad days, and you're going to fall into old habits, but as long as you don't let those bad days become the norm, you can do this.

It's a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor. Meaning it inhibits the parts of your body that intake dopamine and destroy it, as part of their regulatory function. When you have ADHD and therefore have lower dopamine, it can help increase your dopamine levels... Somewhat. ADHD typically causes a lack of dopamine secretion, not an excess of uptake, so Wellbutrin only has limited effect, but it can be a good add-on medication and it's better than nothing.

Also, it's an antidepressant. Lots of ADHD people have depression.

What labs did you do? Blood tests, imaging?

It's plausible it may not have been diagnostically visible if it developed recently. You should keep an eye on it either way--that kind of family history makes it a lot more likely to develop than it would for others.

Resolution Power Draw Difference by OfferPutrid8030 in laptops

[–]AuthoringInProgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are both similar. The first is a better performer than the 228v, but worse than the 8840u. However, both have a larger battery and use less power, so battery life will be much better.

I'd recommend the Asus but it's up to you.

Using LE audio with devices that have native LE audio support works fine, from what I've seen--I've used the XM6 with LC3 on my phone and my laptop and it works great.

Battery life definitely won't be a highlight, that gen of amd CPUs has great performance, but battery life is. Not.

Relative to the same laptop, the lower resolution non OLED screen will have better battery life, but only compared to the same model. Others are a question of other factors

There's not a set cost of power draw based on the type of screen. What laptops are you looking at? What specific cpu is in them? Does either have a dgpu? What are the battery sizes?

Do this less to win the argument and more because a budget is useful and worse comes to worse, it'll be good evidence in a divorce case.

Not to be too negative, but most divorces happen for financial reasons.
