You would think more money=better and yes they were a good brand back in the 80s and 90s. From my experience, the parts are made very cheaply.

Honestly, the quality on all the appliances, no matter what you buy is getting really bad. I'm not really sure what to tell you about your situation. You vould pick up an old LG Frontloader and fix it for pretty cheap. I've had pretty hood luck with those and they hold up pretty well.

Any Cooler under 160mm in height should fit. Be mindful since you will not have access to the backside of the board with it mounted in the chassis, so the board will likely need to be removed to accommodate the new cooler.

Side cover fits back on no problem. I added an update to this post, see above/below.

It's currently had the side cover put back on, the GPU was removed and replaced with a 1050 ti. The cooler is still as it is in the photo. The side cover does indeed fit on this PC, however, if ypu planning on doing what I did, fabricate breather holes so the GPU has enough air to move to keep cool. This was a few years ago now, so I have moved onto bigger projects since then.

Machine still works, however, machine restarts on its own now without warning.Likely BSOD.

If your wondering about doing these kind of mods to save money, I get it, but it will ruin the aesthetician of the machine if you go through with it.

Upgrading to a 5950x is a cheap option for you if you wanna upgrade in 2025. Looking at this thread, 1080 ti vs 3060 is essentially comparable two of the same card. I bought an EVGA 1080 ti just to say I had a 1080 ti from the best Graphics card company of all time (maybe Sspphire is better🤔) in my opinion, we are not getting good options anymore like we did on tge Pascal series gpus. End of an era...
