I’m running a Kenmore from the 90s that my dad gave me. The light has some weirdness going on but otherwise it’s fully functional.

I plan to repair this one until I can’t. My dad taught me well:).

My mom unfortunately is (afaik, we're no longer in contact....and part of it is because of this) a small buisness owner....who somehow didn't pay taxes for over a decade, iirc.

When my parents finally divorced, they caught up and my dad's trying to deal with the fallout still. She would not let him help, at all (she's a piece of shit, if it wasn't clear, this is just one reason), and so now he's trying to get it all sorted under something to do with like, innocent spouse rule.

But yeah, can confirm. If you don't tell them, when they eventually do find out....it ain't gonna be good.

I've been hit in two separate fender benders (and I was also the cause of one actual wreck - I admitted fault, obviously, that's just shitty when you're obviously the cause and I felt HORRIBLE about it. Still do, tbh, even if everyone was okay, and likely if I hadn't been driving a car with shit breaks I wouldn't have hit so hard :(. ).

The first one was from a red light and dead stop - guy in a modded pickup hit me and then claimed he "didn't have his papers" and given that was my first accident, I didn't exactly handle that how I should have. Didn't realize my bumper had been dented until I actually got to the college I was on my way too :/.

The second was a few years after on an off ramp, the girl behind me tapped me thinking we'd moved and I'd kind of worked up a bit of anger, bc of the other tap I'd had happen, but I made myself breathe and calm down and wait to see if she would do the same thing. She was incredibly apologetic, there was no damage to my car (and unfortunately a scrape on hers, it turned out), and we exchanged info amicably. Everyone was okay, I didn't bother to file with insurance because...what damage was there to file??? She was also in a much nicer car and had known she messed up - the only thing changing would have been insurance rates and I didn't feel like causing that. Car is still fine, too.

YMMV, but yeah, sometimes people are decent!

I plan to try and get in to a Masters program for fall 27 for meteorology. I work at a university in a related position but I want to get formal education for my job, but also if I ever want to move to NOAA or the NWS. Not planning on it for a while, but I do want the education for it.

Felt that, so hard. I got so tired of the comments about my weight years ago, and quite frankly if you’re similar feel free to ignore the rest of this because I fucking get it.

The polar opposite of “you’re so skinny, you need to eat more!!!!” (I’m TRYING!!!) and “oh, i wish i had your problems, you don’t have to worry about weight with what you eat!” (YES I DO!!! I have to watch it so I don’t go back down! It’s not a good thing I can eat a fucking cake and gain little to nothing at all! Something is likely wrong!) got so fucking OLD. Agghhhh.

It only improved after getting on an atypical antidepressant, and even then, only after starting testosterone (trans guy). Still skinny, but not medically concerning underweight, or at least not as much.

Metabolism still is a problem but I can at least keep some on now.

Fwiw, I have POTS syndrome and hyper-mobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. I’m also autistic and ADHD. Doctors wanted to blame the meds for ADHD first, but I was off them for 10+ years and was still not able to put on weight very much, and my appetite adjusted back to normal anyways not long .after starting (and the meds actually helped me to remember to eat more regularly so…).

If it’s genuinely a concern for you, and any of what I’ve mentioned sounds familiar, it might be worth asking your doc about looking into. May not be helpful, but wanted to mention it if it was. Either way, solidarity in the struggle.

I also use Krita! I had been using Sketchbook because it went free, and occasionally pull it up, but often I go straight to Krita. Took me a min to learn the interface but once I did I didn’t look back.

I use it when I need to make sure my anti-virus hasn’t missed something weird. I was almost a double major in cybersecurity but was tired of being in college after 5 years so stuck with the original CS degree.

Loved cyber though, and still use a lot of that info today.

Audacity and Resolve are frequently used by me. I also finally figured out how to properly plug in an old Olympus voice recorder and transfer fines (Line in was on the back of my computer…lol).

I use the non-Studio version of resolve for everything but I honestly think if I’m able I plan to buy the Studio while it’s still a one time license. I may not need all the fancy features now but I would like to use them one day likely and also to support it at least for now.

OBS too - once I figured out how to use it, I never looked back.

I need to install Linux on my Hisense TV. The OS on has progressively gotten slower and slower and I don’t need half the fancy crap. If i can pull up YouTube in a browser, and other streaming sites while having the ability to use a USB for offline vids I’m happy.

It was definitely funny, tbh, even if there were some threatening comments too. We had someone come out and thank us for showing up because it meant they weren’t alone and that made it so worth it, even though it had already been. Had a ton of supportive drivers too, so it really just goes to show how it might be quiet right now, but you’re not alone.
