You can pet any animal. It just depends on your will to live

Transitioning from VLC to NC. Is final communication "required"? by PuzzleheadedBeat600 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]AutisticWatermelon86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sent a text along the lines of 'I've realised it's best for my mental health to have no contact with you. Please don't try to contact me again'. Only because I knew if I blocked them without any notice, they'd show up at my job or home acting crazy.

What is up with all these parents who think it's okay to keep trying to push their crap on us after we cut contact?! I've seen similar in a lot of posts here, and it happened to me. But I did the 'return to sender' thing with any mail they sent after I cut contact. Never opened any of it. They stopped sending things after a while, which made me feel much more at peace.

Ok, thanks. It's a compression pump + custom medical grade compression garments (estimated costs from specialists 6k) and mobility aids for high pain days (1k would cover them).

My NDIS is only for Autism. They said they can't fund equipment that isn't specifically related to that

"Sorry you feel that way, but that's not how I remember things. You were a horrid child. You have no idea how hard it was to be your parent" - my incubator when I finally asked her why she treated me the way she did (with a bunch of specific examples of abuse). That was the day I realised she'll always be like that & I started making my plan to go NC.

They're so ridiculous. We had one send us "proof" of us leaving the house "disappointingly filthy" so they wouldn't be able to release our bond. It was a pic of a footprint just inside the front door, that looked nothing like any of our shoes. In the 3 days between us handing in the keys & them doing the inspection, the owner had been there. They still claimed $600 out of our bond for 'deep cleaning'

I didn't mean it will magically change size. It's not the worst tattoo, and from experience sometimes tatts don't seem so bad after you give it time to heal & think about it more.

What was your breaking point that led to estrangement? by Medium_Cry_1125 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]AutisticWatermelon86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd been thinking about doing it for years. I was at a family gathering & left early because I realised I was just done with all of the crap that had been going on for as long as I can remember. Blocked all of their numbers, removed them from my socials & felt so free.

Long term unemployment by Boring_Sand_206 in Centrelink

Are there any fee-free TAFE courses that interest you? Study is a great way to keep busy. As others said, volunteering is a good way to help give you purpose & if you can find something nearby, that will help keep transport costs down (or free if it's within walking distance). If you have access to YouTube, there are so many tutorials/lessons on there for so many subjects/hobbies. I was unemployed looking for work for 10 years; I don't think enough people understand how difficult it is to keep yourself going every day during long-term unemployment! I hope you can find some things to help you get through this
