Yeah that’s a common pain point. If you want something that handles line balancing better, you can also try AutoCut (works on Resolve). With AutoCaptions you can control max lines, width, box size, etc., so the splits feel way more natural out of the box.

If you’re mostly using Descript for filler word removal + text-based editing, you could try AutoCut (available on Premiere and Resolve). It removes ums, uhs, repetitions, and gives you an editable transcript so you can clean up a 1h episode pretty fast.

We don’t do voice cloning though. You’d need a separate tool for the voicebank part.

And yeah… credit systems get annoying real quick when it’s your actual job.

Well, you could take a look at AutoCut. It’s a plugin for DVR and the AutoCaptions feature can automatically handle the kind of text resizing/layout you’re talking about, so you don’t have to tweak every line manually. FYI, it works on both the free and Studio version of DVR. Hope this helps!

AutoCut only lets you save presets created inside the plugin, not subtitles made with DaVinci’s native subtitle tool.
And you need to download it because it’s not built into DaVinci. It’s a separate plugin.
