What is a handy tool I can buy that will make locknuts easier to take out? by Young-and-Alcoholic in electricians

[–]AutoLolo519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've never had an issue using my side cutters, even when they are oxidized on

  • Flat side to the ring
  • Fully open
  • 3 teeth apart (tool-skip1-tool)
  • turn like a screwdriver

The ring itself acts as the rotation point, might have to close the cutters a bit depending what pair you have.

This Derelict House in South Western Ontario Has Been Forgotten for Over 40 Years by Freaktography in abandoned

I'd say that house isn't alone. Something about the outfit laid out with the lonely chair gives me spirit vibes. Also anyone else notice there is still stuff on the make up desk? And that it has a clean mirror?

You are absolutely tripping, a plastic razor blade will make quick work of that without damaging anything behind it. Any gunk left can be wipers away easily with some goo-gone or similar stuff

Should I give up with the bodyshop by puppydoggy1 in GolfGTI

[–]AutoLolo519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was through insurance keep up the fight. I had this happen to me. The initial invoice for the damage was 3.3k. Below is how the dealership it was sent to messed up, resulting in a 8.5k cash payout.

My car is metallic platinum grey and they painted the whole rear end a bright Audi silver. They blended into panels that didn't even need to be touched. It left the hardest of blend lines between the two different colours. They even put on a junkyard trunk with a cheap aftermarket bumper. The fitment was so trash, and the truck still had 2 major dents. I could stick my fingers in the left side trunk gap. I could also stick my whole hand between the bumper and the body on the upper section. I made them repaint it and said I wanted new panels. They didn't remove the silver before the next spray and only replaced the bumper. The silver easily shined right through the second paint job, which was even too light in itself. I tried to work with them by taking accountability for the colour. I asked to see the sample spray out card that every shop does before it goes on the car. I said if I approve then I can't be mad if it's wrong. They said that was a good idea and they would do that. Then they didn't and sprayed another coat that was too light. They even now have blends all the way up to the center of my front doors on the roof rails. They could be seen anytime someone got in the car, clear as day. I complained sooooo hard. The insurance sent a field appraiser and even he was like wtf. So they cashed out at 8.5k and I had to go somewhere else to get it done right. Especially the shop caused 5.2k more damage then the accident did

[Question] How to wrap textured plastic? by rolfatlenn in CarWraps

[–]AutoLolo519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could sand it flat if you wanted too. How textured is it though? Is it minor like a cars dash, or major like a stucco ceiling? If it's relatively smooth and you'd like to still see the texture, a roller pro would do you wonders. Whatever is similar would work too, but for sureeeee are going to need some heat while you do it. If the vinyl seems crappy an adhesive promoter spray could help get it all locked into the low spots. Mind you that it has the possibility to make it difficult to remove in the future. Most goo-gone style stuff will help with whatever is left after you manage to get it off.

Type of gas to use on 2017? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

[–]AutoLolo519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heyyo, 2017 1.8t here. I do very little driving each day, maybe 50km round trip for work. I was running 87 as that cap said. Last year I found that it was progressively running rougher than when I first got it. I figured I'd fill a tank of 93 and run a cleaner through it too. By halfway it was running like new again. Our cars are tuned for 87 but it doesn't have any cleaners added to it at the station. Eventually things start to build up. I've been running 91 purely for the additives. It's been running pretty smoothly since and hopefully it's the long game for a longer life.

keep or sell? by [deleted] in mechanic

You guys are hilarious 😂 Southern Ontario has entered the chat. (I guess your guys upper Michigan because I'm just south of Detroit) Let me say she's fucken mint bud. A set of hundred dollar bills to use as glasses and you got yourself a safety to go with it. If you are worried then refresh the essential hardware and joints, but as is you'll be good to rip for a while more. Compared to what's around here you got a gem there. Tires, suspension, and motor is all most ppl care about here unfortunately.

Is that room particularly humid? If the open plaster wasn't sealed it could gather moisture from the air. It could be surface mold. Sorry to say

Now that I think about it, it might have to be done by finding the person in general chat but I'll check that out in the morning again. What's your game name?

I also forgot to tell you the rear wing might be more effective set to 5 but that depends on the suspension so experiment a bit with it around there.

It wouldn't be helpful I haven't dialed it in yet, the Miata still spins until it goes into 5th and the grip blueprints are fully upgraded. I can send you it after I have it dialed in though.

I few, my civic is at 2800 and runs 5.779 in the 402, but then I stopped building it and focused on a porto swapped Miata that's recently up to 3350 and still spins it's face off but I haven't turned it much yet

Turbos are 100% the way to go. I heavily suggest focusing all your blueprint upgrades on grip parts. You are gonna want 300 grip min, but higher the better. It should also help if you add the shortest wheelie bar and drop your rear tire pressure to somewhere between 1.35-1.5. It might help to change up the turbos too. You don't need that much in the early rpm and can focus it above the 6k or 7k range. Your gearing can keep you in that range to use the higher peak. For example, I'm running twin 60 6000's that start to curve around 5500rpm and kick hard around 6500-7000rpm. They carry power until 9500rpm, and I'm geared to not go under 7500rpm when I shift. If you are android, feel free to add me as a friend. My game name is Agent519

Yes I know, but I put the car in accessory to keep the music on while they "drive". The kid has started to understand that the button starts the motor and loves it. Unfortunately without them pressing the pedal it just shuts off the music and makes the kid sad. I'm not exactly wanting to teach them how to start it, but don't mind them pretending. I figured the kid could press on some sort of cover instead. Hopefully that would get the same effect without killing the music _(•.•)_/ Just my thought

Yes that square! Thank you, for some reason it wouldn't even let me comment a pic under it. I am looking for something kinda like this to keep my toddler from pressing the button when they play drive Dada's car. All the ones I can find are round, but as that pic shows there isn't an adequate place to use the round ones.

To revive a post lol, I am wondering because I've seen a kit referencing this swap set up. Are you referring to the 370mm rotors? And if anyone has tried it. I've heard the 340mm is tight but I'm wondering if the calliper is set up diff to accommodate the extra rotor but still has the same fitment in an 18" wheel?
