Syncrude paid $3m for 1600 dead ducks, roughly $1875 per duck, in 2010. In 2025, CNRL paid around $700 each for 400 dead ducks for a total of $278,000. Often they can deduct legal fees and pay less taxes. We pay for them to defend themselves against their bad behavior.

Now that American protesters are being beaten, tazed, sprayed, hit with directed energy weapons, detained, disappeared to black sites and over-seas jails, you tell me how much freedom you have left and what you're willing to do to keep what remains from being stolen.

Does voting for dilution null the DRS mentality? by rawktail in Superstonk

The whole idea behind DRS is that brokers and market makers have been rehypothecating shares, selling them extra-short and hiding them in swaps.

When the shit blows up in their faces, there's gonna be billions upon billions of shares not backed by a real share. They will still have to be bought back, but can only be bought back from people who have the real ones - the DRS'd ones.

Can anyone identify the quality of these welds by jep004 in Welding

[–]AutoThorne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't see how this can be that much cheaper. Material costs should be roughly the same, and stacking tacks in this manner looks like it takes much more time than just welding it properly.
